I can confirm this, I sometimes get the 404 error.

Wait, what?

The forum said someone quoted me in this thread, but your post doesn't contain a quote and doesn't say it's edited so you didn't remove one after you posted.

Hmm...

hahah I deleted the quote but it still counts.

You deleted it before you posted, not by editing after the fact?

Another bug, I believe.
yeah I click Reply and delete the quote. I don't know if it's really a bad bug, just the Reply information sticking around in my post.
If you post twice consecutively in a thread the posts are merged into one regardless of the time span between posts.

While it has always merged posts that were made around the same time, it's now merging posts even when months have gone by between them.

Example.

Also, I believe that if you quote someone in the second post, they won't get a quote notification, which is also clearly a bug. If it's true, that is. I seem to have experienced it a couple of times, but why not just test it? I'll quote Tyler, as he hasn't been quoted since he posted last, so his quote flag for the thread should be clear.

Hi Tyler, just quoting you to test a possible bug. Did this thread show that someone had quoted you just now?

hey there, yeah it acted normal in telling me someone quoted me.

Hmm, then I guess I'm wrong. I could have sworn I've seen that a number of times though.

do you mean that it doesn't show that someone quoted someone else?

No, I mean that if someone makes a post, and then afterwards quotes one of my posts, so that his first and second posts are concatenated, I can't see that I've been quoted in that thread, neither with the quote symbol on the thread itself, or with the "new replies" flag in the top right corner.

But it seems that either it's not a general phenomenon but restricted to specific circumstances, or I'm just imagining the whole thing.
oh, I think I've experienced that myself before.

Interesting. I just saw that "quote flag without a quote" you were talking about before. Did you click reply on my post, and then delete all the text?

I generally leave at least a bit of a quote in the reply, so there's no confusion as to whom the reply is meant for.
