It's a minor problem but one I hope they will fix . . . =)

The hassle it trying to find the reply in EVERY forum.

I haven't really looked, to be honest. Because last time it was in a deleted thread (you know, back in the days when it told you were the replies were coming from). So chances are something similar has happened here. Or it's one of those lost posts that never showed up that were posted around launch time.

New E-Mail notification won't go away. At all. 4 days now. I can read the thing, and the "NEW" disappears in the message, but remains in the other sections.
Leave the screen, and go back, and it's back on the mail, too.

Only thing I haven't tried is replying to the mail - which IMO didn't warrant one.

Edit : Just tried a reply, and nada. Still bugged as always alerting :\

So, to summarise, GOG's bugs are the following:

Message centre: doesn't actually exist at all. Yet still manages to be utterly broken.

Buying games: to the point where buying should probably be put in quote marks to avoid lawsuits. You can also include gifting in this.

Technical support: again, completely absent. Possibly partly to do with the messaging system, or lack of.

But hey, on the bright side. the new box shine is nice and shiny. Where would we be without that?

Hey, it's all said in love. If I didn't care about GOG I'd let it slide and take my business elsewhere. The simple truth of the matter is that telling GOG they're great and wonderful is only going to aid their continued deterioration. Something I don't want to see.

As for buying, I'm not seeing a shortage of people experiencing problems in that department that are entirely at GOG's end. If you're a business and people can't buy things from you then you damn well better sort it out sharpish.

Yup, tough love is necessary sometimes. I do the same thing with GOG all the time. It's all very nice hearing your business is great, but if that's all you hear, your business won't ever improve. And pretending GOG doesn't have any problems because you like their business model very much, certainly isn't going to help them. That sounds good. You should use this thread more. It's a handy way of keeping tabs on what needs fixing, as well as letting the entire community know what is being done. You can't do that with individual support tickets. But it's good to know you're using the information we are gathering here :-)

I've recently bought a couple of games. Some of them were on my wishlist. After purchasing the games still remained on my wishlist.

Not directly related to the checkout page issues but, clearing the browser's cache causes all boards on the boards index on the community page to become highlighted again which means the relevant info for the highlights is stored locally, right ?

That would mean that the highlights on the index are machine bound instead of account bound, which would make the highlights borderline useless for those of us who log in from multiple machines on different locations and even multiple machines on the same network, not to mention for those of us who like to clear the browser's cache regurlarly.

Can you please clarify if this a temporary thing or a bug or something ? Beacuse i'm having a really hard time figuring out why anyone would set it up this way.

Precisely my outlook on the matter. I just find it unfortunate that the PR stunt seems to have resulted in a lot of people having a more polarised outlook on GOG; rather than the more balanced 'it's broke, let's make sure they fix it'.

Maybe a brief tutorial on clearing the cache would be appropriate.

UPDATE: I've found my own tutorial. I thought I knew what you wanted me to do but I wanted to be sure. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're asking me (us) to delete our complete internet history, including passwords and cookies just so I (we) can buy a game from this site. Is that correct? If so, does that really seem like a reasonable solution? BTW, I just tried again and the problem persists for me.

Look, clearing the browser's cache is often required to solve all sorts of issues, not just on this site, everywhere, so yeah it's a very reasonable solution. Clearing the browser's cache also keeps the trash from pilling up and take up space, so you should probably do it from time to time anyway.

And you don't need to clear your history or passwords, you can be selective about what you delete, so maybe try flushing out just the temporary files and maybe cookies and that will probably do it - you'll get all of those back the moment you reload the relevant pages anyway.

You say the problem persists, but did you cleared the browser's cache or not ?

OKay, I've lost that messages/e-mail tab altogether now. Still got the flag in top-right of screen, though.
