Dollhouse was/is (since there's still a few eps to air) great. The big flaw that it fell through is that it's not mass entertainment, it's too uneasy for that.
Buffy for me. I own both series, so it's rewatchable for me, but I disliked a few character and plot choices to like it as much as Buffy. E.g. Cordelia - I hate she was in it and what they did with her. And the Groosalugg was as annoying as hell. Buffy's ensemble and character/plot arcs are just great.
Dollhouse has a reallllly large basic plot-hole :
If these eejits are rich enough to buy the services of these "dolls", why don't they go hire professionals of the same skill-set? For far less.
And the un-aired original pilot, set in the near-future where China has used the remote-wipe technology to Dollify 7/8ths of America is worth watching, just bizarre and full of "flashbacks" that kind of get you lost.
Still, it's better than 98% of the crap we get on TV here, so I'm still watching it.
It's not Firefly though.

Damn you! We haven't gotten to that episode yet here!

Weclock: You didn't say I was wrong, you just mounted a personal attack on me. I mounted an attack on the subject matter.

Your "attack" had absolutely no substance, so there was nothing to attack but the person who made the uninformed statement. Why don't you go troll somewhere else?
As for my preference, I definitely preferred Buffy, which surprised me. I was expecting to like Angel more, but it's hard to top the second season of Buffy. The fifth season of Angel was extremely good, but it couldn't completely remove the awful taste of the fourth season.

Not really a plot hole, just something that requires a suspension of disbelief. In that case you're arguing the entire premise of the show is a plot hole, when it's pretty interesting.
At least they execute the concept better than the film Gamer does a similar one.

It's on the Season1 DVD boxset only, AFAIA.
Saw somewhere that all TV channels except for FOX that's showing Dollhouse season 1 will include this unaired episode.

ITV didn't here, unless they're showing at the end of the season, sometime in January/February... :-\
I love both shows (Buffy and Angel) but there are two main aspects in Angel that bother me:
- In first season (and mostly first half of the first season) Angel was really good, because very dark and quite violent, a style that fitted very well with the main character. And then, season after season, the shows was becoming more and more 'Buffy-esque' with a lot of sidekicks and a lot of humor. Still good, but definitely away from the first intention.
- In Buffy we have not just one main character. The 'scooby gang' was composed with all the main characters of the show (Buffy, Willow, Xander and Giles). And then, there were sidekicks.
The problem with Angel is that the show is composed only with sidekicks: the dark lover, the supid fashion girl, the cold english watcher. Good characters though, but too simple and not enough deep characters. And the writers knew that, cause all those characters have been heavily modified for the show, season after season.
For me, in a show, the characters are the most important aspect, and on that particular aspect, Buffy had way more interesting characters than Angel.
bleh. Josh Whedon shows are pure bullcrap.

You may be right, I don't know.
Good thing we're talking about Joss Whedon's shows.

I used to think that Angel was great and Buffy was the greatest, but now that I am in the middle of re-watching the old episodes online, I gotta agree with Weclock, neither one is any great shakes. Angel has aged slightly better as a show, but both are simply boring teen angst-fests. Now if you want to talk about a real show from Whedon, let's talk Firefly...
BTW - Its interesting how all these newbies failed to see the subtle profundity of Weclock's post and instead of reading it, they dismiss it as simple trolling. There is nothing simple about Wec's trolling and it would be wise to realize that now before he gets out his gas mask.

K, then, Joss Whedon's show are pure bullcrap. I think he sucks, his writing sucks, and he's the worst thing in tv now. And it's rubbing on to other shows.

I've got to completely disagree. TV would be much worse today if it wasn't for Whedon's influence. Because of him, we got great TV shows such as Dead Like Me and the new Doctor Who. It would be nice if more shows learned something from him so we wouldn't have as much shit on like 24.

I disagree with that. 24 exists solely because of joss whedon. incredible that you haven't seen they're basically written by the same crappy whedon influenced team. I dont know what people see on this guy's shows, but anything whedon just gives me allergies. Maybe its fans are sadistic, i dont know.
