Now is anyone else as gorram excited as I am about this game? What do you think, shiny or not?

Not as excited as briefly believing the series was coming back. Cool nonetheless. I've wanted to check out the PnP RPG at some point.

I like Firefly, but this does nothing for me.
Maybe after I've seen some trailers, but I doubt it.

Had no idea this was out there. I'm not sure if it will be any good, but it sounds like they are taking a non-traditional approach to an online game, which could be interesting. Almost sounds like a 'single player mmo', which, yeah...doesn't make any sense. If they do justice to the universe it could be really successful. Thanks for putting this on my radar!

The promised release is this summer so should start hearing more from them soon I hope. Apologies for that! =(
Would be pure gold though, assuming they made it right. Fortunately Joss Whedon has a history of being very strict with the modifications of lore of Firefly, so if there's going to be more episodes they will most likely be similar than the first season. That is if they ever get the money to do them...

FOX is such an odd network. They seem more willing than anybody to give different shows a chance and at the exact same time they are unwilling to give those shows a decent opportunity to find an audience and thrive. A good number of my favorite shows come from FOX yet they tend to mistreat those shows, I just don't get it.

There was magic when you had the crew of the Firefly on-screen. But this looks too much like a Privateer MMO to me. And while I'll still hope and keep the page bookmarked, I can't help but wonder: how much of Firefly or Serenity is there without the cast and the dialog? How much do you really care about the poor colonials and fear the Reavers when you're fetching ten primary buffer panels for someone's falling-apart ship and hoping to get a pint of strawberries for a reward?

I'm old and cranky, and I'd be very happy to be wrong about this. Either way, thanks for the link. Didn't know about it 'til just now. ^_^

While I would love a Firefly game, it has to have an offline mode for me to even waste my time with it. And, the name specifies Online, so I doubt it has one.

Thanks for the heads-up. This could be a lot of fun.

It'll be interesting at least, to see if they manage to pull this through. I sure hope so!
