lowyhong: What accessory should I buy for on-rails shooters? I'm looking for something similar to arcade light guns; are there any that have force feedback?
I think you want Motion Control Plus for the titles that support it. Other than that most of those accessories are just plastic junk. I guess you can get Link's Crossbow Training as at least you get an okay mini-game with your plastic junk:)

elus89: I've seen recommendations for the Nerf N-strike guns as well, so if your brother's into that it's kind of a two-for-one.
Wait, are you saying we can fit a Wiimote on to an N-strike? SERIOUSLY?!

Do I just get Motion Plus, or are there any other important accessories that come with it? I'm looking thru some online shops now, and there are quite a few bundles of MP with various misc items like specially coloured Wiimotes. At the risk of sounding like an absolute newbie (because I am actually), I'm really not sure what's important.

If you buy additional controllers, make sure they're wiimote+ I guess, won't have to deal with an extra detachable bit that way. Basically you'll want to have at least 1 or 2 nunchucks, enough wiimotes for every regular players, and depending on the games you get maybe a classic controller or 2, or GC controllers, which are also supported by a few Wii games and don't need batteries (unless you get wireless ones). There's the balance board too, if you're thinking about getting Wii fit. Not my kind of thing though.

I don't think there's a lot of games that need the motion+ functionality though. Most games just need a standard wiimote, or wiimote/nunchuck combo.

Thanks. Nearly forgot about the Wiimote+. I would hate to have a smashed 48" LCD in my living room.

Speaking of the Motion+, the only bundle available on the cheapest retailer's website is Wii Sports Resort w/ Motion Plus. It costs $50. If I buy this bundle, do you guys think I should still buy Wii Sports?
I never was much of a fan of Wii Sports, and I didn't try resort. I'd say if you get resort, there's probably not much point getting Wii Sports unless you really enjoy sports "minigames". And I hear resort is better anyway. If you're looking for game recommendations I could dig through my collection and post my thoughts on them. Not much variety though, and a lot of them don't even really use motion controls.
Thanks. Another thing: what is the difference between these and normal Wiimotes?

A Wii remote plus has the Motion+ functionality built-in, so it can play games that require Motion+ right out of the box. No need to fiddle with an extra removable bit. It's what I recommend you to get if you buy additional controllers. While not many games use Motion+, if you end up buying games that do require it, you'll be glad you got these.

Something to keep in mind: games that use the Motion+ functionality will eat your batteries faster. Regarding batteries, you'll probably want to use some good, long lasting rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, with a good charger. Using only non-rechargeable batteries will end up costing a fortune in the long run. Just don't use lithium batteries

Okay, if you've seen the Wii Motion Plus, which is an add-on that you can affix to the normal Wii remote to give it an extra dimension of detection, the version you've linked to is the add-on's features incorporated within the size of the original. Thus you don't need the Wii Motion Plus accessory (not that many games incoroporate it) and won't have to worry about the extra bulk. From that same site, The Wii Motion Plus add-on comes with Sports Resort, so you would only want to buy that version if you buy some normal original Wii remotes, without the Plus insignia on the bottom.

Yes, but just the switch shot ex-3 , which appears to be the least interesting of the N-Strike series, unfortunately.
I noticed the Wii has a light sword accessory. Out of curiosity, other than Red Steel 1 and 2, what other games simulate sword fighting?

Btw does anyone own the Nyko Perfect Shot? Some users from other sites are saying it has force feedback. Does it?

Checked the official site for that Nyko Perfect Shot thing. Doesn't mention force feedback anywhere and it says it doesn't need batteries, so I'm guessing it's just a plastic toy with a pass-through port for the nunchuck. The Wii remote has built-in force feedback anyway.

LoZ: Skyward Sword has good sword controls, but I definitely wouldn't call it a "simulation". I think there's also a game involving swords in Wii Sport Resort. Can't think of anything else.
Out of curiosity, for those who own the Wii, what accessories do you all have? I think I will buy the Nyko Perfect Shot (@KingofDust: its "recoil" is similar to those plastic toys you sometimes see where you squeeze the trigger and there's a spring mechanism to simulate the effect) and the Wii Buckshot (which I think is seriously cool). Am considering the Nyko Wii Wand Action Pack too

Sadly, the local distributor has run out of stock, so I have to wait till the 1st week of March to get it. It's a bummer, but at least I can be sure it won't interfere with my bro's exams.

lowyhong: That's right. I'm going to buy a console for my little brother for his birthday.
And the console that fits all your needs is...

*DRUMS*

The PC!
The only accessory I have is the Wii wheel that came with Mario Kart Wii, and I don't use it. It's just a useless piece of plastic, and I'd rather simply hold my Wiimote sideways. Most of my games don't make much use of the motion controls anyway, and I find that extra accessories just get in the way.

I can see why some people would like gun accessories for on-rail shooters though.
