I can't count the number of times that I think, "Wouldn't it be nice to have this on GOG?" and then subsequently forget when I finally get the chance to sit down on search for it on the wishlist.

For (shameless plug) example, I keep forgetting to check up Hexplore on the wishlist.

It's very likely that there is already a forum topic just about this. It is also very likely that said forum topic has 500 or so pages of junk to sift through, meaning that not very many people are going to read it.

I suggest that we have some kind of newly created forum topic (one per week?) for each game of interest to draw attention to wishlist items. There are a ton of older games (like Hexplore) that get lost through the cracks of memory.

Something like "Game for Week of Oct 1 is..."

Thoughts?
I would like to bring to everyone's attention: "System Shock 2"...

Oh, wait...

SS2 is on the Wishlist splash page. I'm talking about games that require one to consciously look them up.

But yes, you are right, the wishlist is not "Balanced" right now and very biased, meaning many games get little to no chances compared to other "Popular" titles

Is it really needed though? The wishlist is at best only a very loose guide as to what is and isn't super popular. Most of the time its legal or software barriers which hold titles back from being released on GOG.

In the end all you'd get is more votes on the system, but no real end result since the wishlist won't be completed in any kind of order of priority by GOG and its only the extremes of view (ie the games with masses upon masses of votes( which might gather more attention (even then it won't be games so much as how many top listed titles are held by the same legal group and can thus be negotiated together).

The point is to raise general awareness of games that many have either not heard of or forgotten.
Whine enough for a game and maybe that will speed up the process of getting through the legal hoops.
I've always seen the wishlist as a marketing tool. GOG want to know which games would draw the most attention to the site if they manage to acquire them.
Unfortunately this means that only the top wishlisted games is something GOG put much effort into.

That's just my take on it though.
We need some sort of list with all the games on the wishlist, it should maybe sort the games in order of popularity? and maybe highlight the most wished for games? and you should be able to search it to find out which games are on the list.

Are you per chance proposing that we have a Wishlist of the Wishlist?

Well, we do get quite a lot of "Announcement of an announcement", so why not a "Wishlist of the Wishlist"?

Basically an organized and categorized wishlist.

Maybe the mods could?

I was proposing something closer to Roman5's lists of underappreciated games on the wishlist just less listlike.
