At least if they put that version on Steam I'd finally be able to get the DLC. Fucking Microsoft and their amazing plan to regionally restrict DLC of all things.

No.
Wasn't this game out last year?

You are correct.
"Game of the Year" is just Bethesda's way of branding the all-inclusive special editions of their games ever since Morrowind, and since it is only released once they have stopped making new content for the game it doesn't necessarily arrive in the year in which it actually got GOTY awards.

Bluekkis: Game of the Fail
Seriously, F3 has nothing that made the first two so great. It's jsut a modern gore version of SoF placed into Fallout universe.

Don't quite realize the hype about the gore. It's simply technology that's been around for so many years already.

Just because you say it, it doesn't make it true.
In your opinion no, in my opinion yes.
Might buy it now instead of renting it. =)
It's really odd seeing the Fallout 3 hate here. I thought it was a great sequel. In fact, I thought it stayed closer in tone to the original Fallout than Fallout 2 did, which had more jokes in it.
Who cares if other people love it or hate it? The only thing that matters is whether or not you like it.

Aliasalpha: Game of the year means nothing anymore, its just a fancier codename for "Original Game + Addons"

Which is what I've been waiting for... I resisted buying it when it first came out because I knew there was going to be DLC released for it and decided to wait for them to release a GOTY edition with the original game + DLC.
So instead of dropping around $100 + for the game and DLC, I can buy the GOTY edition for $50.
Yeah that is a good strategy if you don't mind the wait
Fallout 3 *was* the objectively best game for 2008....but how is it even being nominated for 2009? I think sites avoided giving it it's proper trophy due to the split between fans of GOOD GAMES, and nostalgic fans who would rather bitch and moan than play an amazing game.

Except it was not an amazing game - it was a boring one that has little depth. :p
FO3 isn't really a Fallout game. Sure it uses some of the stting/background but in the end it's a typical recent, incredibly dull Bethesda attempt at an RPG where they just almost entirely de-emphasize the RPG elements... e.g. FO3, Oblivious or IOW they're really maybe action-adventures at best...
Same type of "quests", more saminess than Daggerfall, cramped world space(or at least it feels that way), awful voice "acting", poor level of polish(e.g. just ask a beggar about something then rumors in Oblivious). Not even being open-ended sandboxy is saving these recent Bethesda games.
