bansama: After playing the demo for a few hours I realise that this game gets amazingly boring if played for too long at once. Nice background artwork though. Can't stand the artwork for the main character or the enemies. So I really doubt I'll pick it up.
I tell you though, it's funny seeing some of the fan boys for this game get all upset when you don't agree with them that this is the bestest thing EVAR!!!!1!

Ahh fanboys... gotta love em. No wait not love, that other word that sounds like love... hate!
The good thing about Braid is that the full version has a fair bit more to the time manipulation than is shown in the demo, it helps keep the game fresh for the length of it. It surprised me when I got the 360 version, I was a bit concerned that it'd get repetitive but every so often I found myself saying "Ooh thats new/clever"

acare84: Great game but $15 is too high for me, for this kind of game. I will wait for weekend deal or price cut.

michaelleung: A Weekend Deal for a game this new? Come back in six months.

Did I say I want the deal now? I can wait for it, I have a lot of games to play now.

the game is alright, i prefer the ideas and concepts in flipside (hl2 source mod) over braid though.
really the game is boring.
I've buyed the game this morning, and i think it's awesome, something fresh among the callofduty's and crysis of this world...
I tried the demo but something is a bit annoying, wanted to check if anyone else has this problem. The full screen resolution seems set at 1280x960, so it displays in a 4:3 screen in my 16:10 monitor. When I run windowed it's a perfect 1280x720. Anyone else having a problem where it doesn't scale correctly in full screen mode?
p.s. I know that it's a 16:9 game so there will be borders top and bottom regardless, but it should at least fill out left and right as best it can.

Gah, I absolutely hated Flipside. The concept was fantastic, but the gameplay was so frustrating. And I can't seem to uninstall it either, for some reason.
I have only played Braid for an hour or so, but I'm enjoying it a lot. It gets quite clever after a while, and I just love the presentation.
Hmm. I want Braid, but after buying so many 6 dollar games on gog, I'm spoiled and see 15 bucks as expensive.

You never played platformers when you were younger?

I did, but with the reqind, there's no real sense of urgency, no sense of danger. it's like.. a platformer where the main goal is story.. a storyline I could care less about.

AHHHH Well that explains an awful lot, including your apparent fondness for brainless FPS games

I've gone through most of the story through the demo, so a lot of it is just "I already played this.. lets skip it.." kind of crap.
but yeah, I noticed recently I don't have the patience to stick with most story driven games for long lately, maybe it's because I don't have the time to keep up with the story. FPS games you can pick up and drop in a matter of seconds..

I find casual games more of pick-up-and-put-down than FPSes, but that's just me.
(Casual = PopCap)

TF2, Painkiller, Halo 3, CS:S, Farcry..
who plays these games for story?
pick up the controller, frag somebody, put the controller down. easy, simple. You don't have to play 'til rounds end, that's not where the fun is, it's in fraggin' people.
but anyway, I also got viva pinata recently

Well, to each his own.
