Navagon: Then simply don't. Campaigning for a boycott is a whole different kettle of fish to voting with your wallet.
How so?

Also: I'm not campaigning. Just sharing my view on this issue because I feel its important. That is the purpose of the forum. I didn't call for anyone to join to me. I'd be glad if other GOGers did, but it won't change my mind if I'm the only one taking this stance.

Coelocanth: I don't get it. Why is there even the expectation that we'd get the expansions included?
Because nearly every other game on GOG that had an expansion has the expansion included in the GOG installer?

And?

reaver894: Maybe part of the deal with EA was GOG had to give them the soul of the company.

TheEnigmaticT: That doesn't sound like a usual contract rider. :P
Very True however this is EA...

Off-topic but why was this down voted? Yes he's asking/telling or whatever to boycott a publisher but he's just voicing an opinion I don't see the need to hit the rep button.

Man, you guys are touchy.

ddmuse: How so?
Quite simply, you cannot boycott something all by yourself. That's just voting with your wallet. A boycott is consumer activism. By its very nature it requires the participation of others for it to have any validity. Boycotting something on your own is like going on strike by yourself.

ddmuse: I'll make this simple:

I have not and will not purchase *any* EA games on GOG (or any digital vendor) until (as a consistent policy) expansions are included with EA games or offered as an upgrade.

This includes EA games already released; Alien Crossfire for Alpha Centauri, etc. If an expansion cannot be released (for legal issues pertaining to rights, or for any other reason), then I expect an explanation.

I will vote with my dollar: I don't want EA on GOG if EA refuses to offer complete versions of its games. I will remain a GOG customer: GOG has displayed integrity and respect for its customers during the release of The Witcher 2, and that is enough to keep me here and trust that EA is responsible for these decisions.

It's that simple.
Shit, I may not like the fact that these games don't include expansions, but I'm not overreacting this much. :P
Jesus Mother-loving Christ.
Did IQs just drop sharply while I was away?

Yet another "bash EA because they're EA and did some shit 15 years ago" thread...

Have you even heard how you sound?
Get over yourselves.

Seriously, buy or buy not. Just shut the fuck up whinging like self-entitled pricks.

It was only a few months ago nobody would have bet their left testicle EA would EVER show up on gog at all. and now you're all acting like shitty little 5 year olds?? O_o
Let gog do their jobs. Let us have some peace and semi-serious reading on the forums.
If the expansions turn up, fine. If they don't, no big deal. We still have the full games as were originally. Either way, whinging about it is useless, and probably even counter-productive.
JUST STOP! >.<

Now i'm confused. What side are you on? I'm on the, these complaints are foolish side.

I don't thing all that trepidation in our ranks comes from expectations that we will have to pay extra $ for expansions or that 'base-game' is not worth its price - but from worries that because of complicated, time consuming legal issues (like 3rd party company involved in the negotiations) for some games there will be no expansions at all. I can’t see why I should boycott EA games on gog. They came here with DRM-free classics they have rights for – what more can we expect?

But why jump headfirst into a boycott? You would probably get a more favourable response if you proposed a letter writing campaign. It would be less confusing, at any rate.

I am working on a letter for EA support/customer service. ;-) Honestly, tho, I feel that EA will listen to GOG more than me, so I chose to be vocal here first. Can't file a support request for the expansions with GOG for each game because I'm not buying the games, so I posted. Willing to take the rep hit in order to let my view on it be known.
