I'd probably buy it at $20 actually, because I'm such a slave to the RPG genre. Same for that Dark Eye RPG that came out a few months ago, though it hasn't been on sale at all yet from what I have seen.

From the TotalBiscuit video the combat is just horribly designed. There is no shield, can't dodge with all weapons, can't interrupt enemy attacks or knock them down. This needs a serious overhauling from the devs to be even remotely enjoyable to play.

jamyskis: Mind you, it's published by Focus Home Interactive, so I would consider it very likely to end up on Bundle Stars before it gets sold on Steam at that price.

Well, I'd be out of the running at that level as $20 is well above my personal "give in to Steam" threshold. I assume that the retail version requires Steam (all of FHI's stuff has required it, as did Mars: War Logs) although I haven't really bothered to check. I expect I'll eventually cave though with this game, if only for sheer curiosity, be it for PS4 or in a Steam sale. But yeah - good, bigger-budget cRPGs are ironically something that the PC has been sorely short of lately and something I too would be more inclined to jump upon. We've had Dark Souls 2 (which I haven't picked up yet) and...well, that's about it really.
I've only heard bad things about Demonicon, and haven't really felt the urge to take the risk anyway, as the retail version also uses forced Steam.

Psyringe: Demonicon? That was on sale lots of times and discounted down to 10$ AFAIR, at least on GamersGate. wolfsrain

Ahh, that explains it. Blackguards doesn't really feature as an RPG in my mind (though it does have strong RPG elements), so I didn't think about that one. Blackguards indeed hasn't had any considerable discounts yet.

And you are right, of course. It's supported by dev and patches are still in works which is more that you can say about some bigger titles. The remaining problems are either small bugs or some graphic bugs (none gamebreaking), so i'd call ROA, now, playable. Still, needs a bit of balance tweaking.

Well, Blackguards isn't exactly a traditional cRPG, but it's pretty close to a tactical RPG like Fallout Tactics or Shadowrun Returns. What else would you classify it as if not as an RPG?

To be honest, I didn't categorize "Shadowrun Returns" as an RPG either. It's based on an RPG system and it _tries_ to be seen as an RPG, but so far (three or four missions in) it plays like the new XCOM with some inconsequential running-around in-between. It looks like it _could_ become an RPG, but so far the gameply doesn't make use of its potential.
