cich: This is rather strange. How long have you played the game? I finished it and, to me, it's definitely easier than Commandos 1. It's a bit less stealthy sometimes, because there are a number of cool shootouts, but I really flied through Desperados without much trouble.
Really? Maybe some of my problems stemmed from me trying to play the game too much like Commandos or something. I don't know. I just found the game to be incredibly difficult.

As for how long I played it... It's been over a year now, but I'm pretty sure the last level I played was in a town at night. There was a dock at one end of the map, too. I don't remember much more than that, but I do remember I finally just gave up. Who knows, though. Maybe I'll try it again some day.

langurmonkey: I don't hate people for thinking BG2 is crap. It just makes me angry, some people think it's crap. Hating someone over a game is childish even if you think the game comes from the heavens. But I think most human beings are bigots when it comes to certain things. That is only natural.

PS
Please don't mistake my BG2 related anger as something hostile(berserker rage) to others. Friends piss off each other sometimes and still remain friends.

Tranquil.Suit: Ugh, BG2 is just the worst game ever in the history of everything. It's so absolutely horrendous that I couldn't even bring myself to play it.
Blasphemy!!! And obviously you are trolling. Why are there so many trolls here? GOG general discussion is becoming seriously troll infested.

Nah, I don't see the point of making someone you don't know over the internet, go into a rage. Trolling is only fun for me in real life.

Okay fine. Hotline Miami is such a horrible game, people should pay people to play it. That game is so horrible, I wouldn't even pirate it. It is nothing more and nothing less than digital shit. In fact, playing that game also makes you shit and your penis smaller. Every time a country goes to war with another country, they should bombard each other with Hotline Miami. I fling my poo at Hotline Miami. In Hell, Satan makes people play Hotline Miami. In some countries, gifting someone Hotline Miami is seen as a way of telling that person, you want to rape his dog and kill his mom.

Mivas: But do you remember characters other than two or three persons from the main quest? Do you recall some of their unique lines? Their character's traits? Does solving some quest provides character's growth (not you)?
avatar
Fenixp: Specific characters? I don't remember their names for the same reason why I don't remember the lines, but for characters themselves, from the main storyline alone, I remember 5 - that's the Morrowind's storyline alone
to which you can add the characters of Seyda Neen (the first hamlet), that dubious wood elf, that monk-ish guy who 'welcomes' you, that dead tax collector, that guy falling from the sky .....
Then in a larger scope you have at least the 3 great houses, which hold their load of emblematic characters, then there is Umbra as usual .... and then lots of random NPC have a lot of flavor mike the khajiit and argonians slaves.

And at last you have the books. The books in Morrowind have a lot of 'substance'.

Morrowind is a great game, but you have to dive into it and give it a lot of time, which can be problematic nowadays.

It is too bad Morrowind runs like garbage on modern machines.

And it ran like garbage back in time, but that wasn't an issue. But you're right, I don't think I could play it again .... no more time, no more patience .... and sadly I totally understand people who can't appreciate the game today :(.

I'd love to play it again because it is a one of a kind game but I can't stomach the 20 to 25 fps.

tinyE: The great thing about this thread is that every time someone mentions a game they despise someone else reads it and thinks "That's one of my all time favorites!" and visa versa.
avatar
pigdog: Bang on. I can't believe these are on peoples lists:
- Red Dead Redemption
- Anachronox
- Divine Divinity
- Neverwinter Nights
- Baldurs Gate 2! - that deserves the exclamation mark

Each to their own but I was shocked (to the very core, I might add) when I saw these. <Dramatic faint>
Stay strong!

But I would like to add that if I was capable of being shocked by the taste of other people I would be shock right now because of... you! I absolutely love PoP Warrior Within (and other games from the series) and the only thing I slightly dislike is the backtracking. True, it was perfectly explained why you have to go through some areas again but enemies you encounter were the same as before. So you got to fight mere pirates that you had been able to defeat with a stick. But once you were carrying the most powerful sword in the game one hit was enough to finish them. Booooring!

The sooner you learn the better for you: De gustibus et coloribus non est disputandum ;)
