Fenixp: It really shouldn't. Not to mention I too didn't find BG 2 to be very good.
avatar
langurmonkey: It really should considering I worship the game almost like a god.
In that case you got bigger problems than someone disliking BG2!

Not really. At least BG2 actually exists.

Being angry at people who dislike your god would just make you a bigot you know :-P

WTF: Disciples 3, anyone? God damn biggest disappointment ever. Sooooo boring.
I'm with you. It's a beautiful game, but it might as well have been a generic strategy rpg for all the lack of flair, charm and uniqueness of the first two. (Seriously, no Dwarves OR Undead? WTF WAS AKELLA THINKING?!)

Yeah. It completely butchered the mechanics (even tho all it had to do to be good was just to keep them) and in the campaign, I just couldn't for the life of me get trough the fist mission. I would probably try more if the mechanics were still interesting enough.

No problems. I simply see Baldur's Gate 2 for what it is.
Die by the Sword

I played it when I was younger but when i tried it about 2 years ago it was dreadful

Daedalus1138: Desperados. Being such a fan of the Commandos games, and hearing this one was similar, I really wanted to like it. However, it was way too hard for my tastes. The game requires perfection, and unfortunately, I just can't play it perfectly.
This is rather strange. How long have you played the game? I finished it and, to me, it's definitely easier than Commandos 1. It's a bit less stealthy sometimes, because there are a number of cool shootouts, but I really flied through Desperados without much trouble.

It's because the only thing Akella really emphasized was grinding. I'm deadly serious about this. I had problems with the campaign too, until I realized just how much you have to grind, get your troops leveled up to grind some more, then when you're done with that? HEY HAVE SOME MORE GRIND.

Well to be fair, the originals were quite grindy as well. Then again, they also give you a lot of tactical options on top of the grind.

I don't hate people for thinking BG2 is crap. It just makes me angry, some people think it's crap. Hating someone over a game is childish even if you think the game comes from the heavens. But I think most human beings are bigots when it comes to certain things. That is only natural.

PS
Please don't mistake my BG2 related anger as something hostile(berserker rage) to others. Friends piss off each other sometimes and still remain friends.

Absolutely they were, BUT, you had many options of dealing with the grind, you had quests, they didn't penalize you for heavy reliance on magic to drop upper level monsters, etc. I guess I was just frustrated with the total lack of options too. :(

Ugh, BG2 is just the worst game ever. It's so absolutely horrendous that I couldn't even bring myself to play it.

I liked BG1 though. It's the greatest game in the history of gaming.
