pigdog: I've prayed and asked for my soul to be cleansed. The gods granted me enlightenment and it confirmed that Psychonauts is indeed crap. It is the work of Satan who has attracted and hypnotised the gullible with pretty, colourful graphics.
I was just filling in the rest. I don't care for Psychonauts.
Borderlands 2 - Absolutely loved the first one, and borderlands 2 is all around a better game. Regardless, I never beat it. I even purchased the season pass day one, as I thought I would spend a lot of time on the game, but never got around to playing any of the dlc.

Something about the game was just unappealing. Which saddens me, because I beat the first one several times including all the dlc.

Half-life - I never played it until recently when steam launched for linux. I honestly didn't like it all that much. The story was presented in a manner that I didn't care for it. The gameplay was boring for me. I do happen to like Half-life 2 though.

Half-Life certainly hasn't aged all that well. But it was revolutionary at the time.

Ishar triology, way too difficult.

might and magic 6, too many enemys to kill them all, they overswamped me.
Fallout 3. I just thought it was extremely dull. Tried and tried but could not get into it.

One other, but it's been so long I can't remember what it was called. Some old turn-based game that barely explained anything, so I spent more time online trying to figure out how to play it than actually playing it. I'm sure if I let my brain work on it I'll remember the title at some point.

edit: Oh yeah, Skyrim too. Just, ick. If Fallout 3 was "a less-exciting Oblivion with a sci-fi look" (my opinion), then Skryim was "Hey, let's try the reverse: make people think of Fallout 3 when playing an Elder Scrolls game!"

Oh ! good one ... I almost forgot this thing existed in my library. I started 5 games at least, I dropped the first after 10 hours or so, I think I dropped the following attempts just past Megaton.

I disagree. I didn't play it until 02-03, and I was blown away, after having played quite a few "6th gen" shooters that came well after it. The atmosphere, the gunplay, and the AI still remain great to this day, IMO. I still pull it out for a playthrough every year or so, and it is always refreshing to see a corridor shooter done well. I do have to give a lot of credit to the hi-def add-on, though. That certainly helps its age.

Eschalon: "Oh cool an old school RPG" is what I said to myself during the drought a few years back. Well.. I booted it up and was greeted with some of the worst gameplay I have ever saw in an RPG. This thing brings all the worst aspects of 'old school' and none of the charm that actually made the older games fun.

Spiderweb Software games: See Eschalon, but apply an inventory system that makes me rage and really shitty area design.

Borderlands 2: I get it, its supposed to be Diablo with guns. But I can't get past the bullet sponge enemies and the fact that they CONSTANTLY RESPAWN.

Civ 4: Way too much damn micromanagement.

Shogun 2 Total War: I used to like these games, but I can't get into them anymore.

Morrowind: Lets make a first person oriented game AND THEN MAKE EVERY ATTACK BASED ON A DICE ROLL.

langurmonkey: I wanted to win. We both said some messed up stuff. But I'm only joking. I'm sure you were joking too.

Tranquil.Suit: This is not a game anyone can win. Either you stop playing or you lose.
Don't you mean the only winning move is not to play?
Duke Nukem Manhattan Project just got worse and worse the more I played it.

Excited for KKND, but then was let down by the horrific pathfinding and weak gameplay. Units had issues in C&C and Red Alert, but never to the point where they purposely crash into eachother even though they had plenty of room to both pass. Not to mention your units who seem disinterested in fighting and just stand there most of the time.

That is twice that "Manhattan Project" has been mentioned here. Am I the only one that loves that game? I wonder if it's an age thing; growing up on the original Contra is probably why I love it so much.

Spiderweb games have so much potential, but in addition to your complaints I can't stand the graphic style that looks like reappropriated clipart.

Can't you mod that out? Maybe not...
my recent bad experiences:

Deus Ex - futuristic agent 007, global conspiracy, implants, stupid AI, horrible empty locations and everyone wears sunglases in a world with no sun

Icewind Dale 2 - scripts constantly throwing monsters all around the party, even into areas I've already explored, shitload of fantasy cliché, more monsters

SimCity 4 - repetitive, build this than you have to build that, advisors bitching constantly, destroying skyscrapers cuz I need one more tile for avenue road... when you build everything you ask yourself - why did I take the burden upon me ?

Dracula Ressurection - is this a game or google street view ?

Demon Stone - empty game

SW Republic Commando - W+left mouse button, thats it

Civilization 4 - infantile nation leaders,facebook-like blue color everywhere, archers battling tanks, attacking possible only by one unit, fighting for cities is just ridiculous, very dated gameplay
Fallout 3. I tried so hard to get into the game. About 20 hours in and I had hated every second from the embarrassingly poor attempt at fallout style humour with the G.O.A.T. My hated for the game and Bethesda for completely failing to understand the fallout universe is perhaps one of my strongest gaming passions.

Hitman Absolution. I didn't uninstall it yet but the more I play the more disappointed I get. Mechanically the best hitman game but everything else is a half tune off. It is so damn bland and forgettable. I actually feel like there is no reason to play it. It is not bad but it is also not good and memorable. I have paused my first playthrough indefinitely.

Fallout New Vegas is the real Fallout 3.
