Anyone ever heard of this? Just browsing the steam store to see the latest specials and came across this link
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/2198/
Not sure if anyone outside of Australia will be able to see it but you're only really missing the title and the price.
Is this some sort of regional specific expansion thing, will we be shooting giant mutant kangaroos and living in fear of drop bears?
Or could Australia be becoming Germany MK2 with games specially modified for our area? Perhaps shooting people will produce not blood but a cloud of fairy dust that floats into a cloud that says "Killing is bad!" and instead of dying the enemies run away giggling like schoolgirls. Depressingly I had a quick look at the related news thing and followed a link to the game page where I got all the details, trailers and screenshots but no option to preorder it
Hmm, I don't see it. I can't go into the page, you see.
I'm sure your lovely country will have sanitized the game to beyond playability and there will be no blood, no guns, no aliens, no enemies, and the only thing you see is a barren wastelan-- oh, right, I mean, desert.
ok here's a screencap of the page for all the use it'll be

A package? What?
Borderlands everywhere else is just the game, no package or anything. Same price though.
It probably just means its been made safe for all you 15 year old kids over in australia so you can play your games. You can learn about blood and violence when your older and through television when you've grown out of gaming.
Non Australians add the following at the end of that URL: ?cc=au
Or try this link
No word on if we are going to get a censored or region specific game again, but for the official page; according to what I read on the Steam forums this morning, there is a glitch for it showing in our country. USA, Europe and New Zealand can get to it.
Actually, come to think of it, the entire store section in the Steam client refused to load anything for me earlier today as well.

I suggest you Australians to take no chances and to just buy it online and import it. Not that it needs suggesting.
Well after wading through support categories and making a specific support account (why on earth it doesn't make one when you make your account is baffling, they need some database merging) I finally managed to submit a short question asking what in the name of hell it actually IS. Whether or not they'll ever reply is a mystery but I said I didn't want to preorder without knowing it WAS actually Borderlands
I don't want to preorder anyway, Borderlands looks like shit (or Left 4 Mad Max) but they don't need to know that.

That sounds a lot better than the preview I watched. I would shell out $50 for the fairy dust version.

IE8, yeah. I took the screencap in that full screen mode thing you get by hitting F11. Why?

Hehe I sort of thought the same after writing it but what I wanted was a single gun somewhere thats really hard to find that gives you the most stupidly over the top gory deaths so you can counter all the sweetniess and light with good old blood soaked carnage

IE8 is a microsoft product. and you support it although you have three perfectly good choices for browser (chrome, Opera, FF)
Why would you support a company which shits at its users? The only reason IE8 exists is because firefox appeared. Otherwise we would still use IE6. unchanged, slow, dangerous...
That's wrong.
(I am entirely serious. People who are computer-literate and use IE are pissing me off)
