I'm really excited. An RPG that plays like diablo but is an FPS. When I was watching the 30 minute long 4 player so-op gameplay it looked like an instance on an MMO filled with bosses, loot, quests, and options to go wherever.
Its also by Gearbox. Can't wait for tomorrow :)

I have my copy pre-ordered, but it's the PC version, so it'll be another week wait. =/

Is it this game which has been heavily modified at one time, during production, mostly concerning the graphic style?

Yeah, it was a typical, bland, grey 'realistic' game. Then they decided to actually have some fun with it instead. I think it's paid off. But the console kiddies love their bland, grey games too much to get into it. Which is another bonus in my book.

This "bland, grey 'realistic'" graphics you're talking about is maybe one of the main reasons I don't have much interest in recent games.
I like games with nice graphics, a visual identity, not a 'realistic' look.
In this game, I like what they've done with this sort of cell shading, a technique often not used correctly.

Too much realism just makes games look yawnsome. Games can be detailed while maintaining their own unique visual style. I think Borderlands is a perfect example of that. Another would be the upcoming Brink.

Wow, Brink looks beautiful! An excellent mix of realistic materials and stylized character proportions. I will follow progress of that one, thanks for the info.

I beg do differ. I am NOT a fan of realistic graphics, and I am a console kid. 'Sides, if I wanted a 'Borderland' experience, I'd just go down to that gate we build near the Texas border and shoot illegals all day.*

Prepurchased, but I've decided to play Torchlight first, then when my buddies get Borderlands, we'll jump in and have some co op. A friend of mine got a new computer with a fancy quad core and an HD4850, so this'll be the first game he'll run on that.

Yeah, and it's not like it won't come down in price in the meantime. So there's no point in rushing out there to buy it.

But, otherwise, that's not so bad. Especially from 'Bioshock' 2K. Anyway, waiting a while drives the prices down a bit. 10% preorder discount is a bit of a joke when you think about it.

Just got my copy of the 360 version and so far its been a blast.
Plays and looks great , the RPG elements are surprisingly solid and for the most part each skill tree feels unique and interesting.
Each class have 3 skill trees and a single active skill.
You can modify your active skill by either equipping items with class specific bonuses or by investing points in the different skill trees.
ie.
The soldier active skill is an auto turret which also provides some cover, by investing few points on my medic tree it also regenerate HP of nearby alleys .
I also found an item that adds a shield regeneration effect to my turret , combining the two I got an instant "Medic Station" for the whole team each time I pop the turret.
So far been really enjoying the multiplayer and tho its still pretty early on (around 6-8 hours of gameplay so far) seems like a great buy for pretty much any one who enjoys FPS or RPG
