As i made a giveaway recently, i realised that there are some informative book readers on GOG. I always like to expand my knowledge and discover new things.

So any decent book recommendations you have would be beneficial to the whole community. Whether its an old classic, or a modern digital e-book, or perhaps a graphic novel, tell us about it.

Maybe even list amazon e-book deals also!

"Hitler's Private Library" written by Timothy Ryback. It analyzes Hitler's mind using the books he read as a reference. It's a very interesting book.
I'm good with pulp fiction written in the late 19th century to the early 20th century by the following authors - Robert E. Howard (my favourite so far!), Edgar R. Burroughs, Jack London, Sir Doyle, just to name a few. These authors and their stories (Tarzan, Conan, Sherlock) have a very strong expository flavour that I find lacking in many novels today. Not that there aren't good authors today (I really enjoy books like the Nightside and Dresden series), but I find it remarkable how much the mainstream writing style has molded and changed itself over the years.

Actually, if you're interested, you can read Conan stories for free online, since the right to use the Conan name is flying in limbo. I recommend getting a Del Rey though. It's nicer to have a book on hand.

Woah. Never knew this book existed. Interesting find.
First thing that crossed mine mind is this trilogy:

Red Mars
Green Mars
Blue Mars

Written by Kim Stanley Robinson. I was one of the nicest surprises for me, as far as the books are concerned. Since I picked it up pretty much at random from the public library. Funny thing is that nearly no one I know has even heard about it. And I mostly move around people who are readers of SF and fantasy.

Something about books. They are about colonization of Mars. Who would have guessed. :)

It begins by one way journey of first Earth's astronauts to Mars. And from that it covers next few centuries. First explorations and experiments on Mars and it's moons, arrival of first colonists, building of first cities, improvements of science and medicine, gradual terraforming of a planet and rising political struggle between Earth and "Martians".

I'm nearly done with the first. The second is just around the corner. I don't know yet what it is, but from the last blog post they said that only 12 copies remain! I'm currently reading mostly on my phone. I really need to buy a tablet ...

Being on GOG has given me more websites/information than any other site. I never knew that site existed, and what they are doing is fantastic.
Batman: Year One, The Dark Knight Returns, The Killing Joke, and Watchmen are my personal favorite graphic novels. I think they're sheer amazing brilliant work of arts. I have bought multiple copies of each book just because I want to spread them around my friends.

Also, I really enjoy 80AD series by Aiki Flinthart. You can get whole series for free from smashwords.

http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/64205 This is first book in series. There's 5 books in total but each book has its own distinctive flavor, which set itself apart from other fantasy book series.

Haven't tried out Spawn, despite that I grew up in that era where Spawn was so super popular. Is there any graphic book that you would recommend to me? I want to explore more stuff. :)

I dont really have any other recommendations, but Spawn is very dark, very grim and violent. Its like an over 18 version of Batman.
