Thespian*: Not in (I don't have a portable device, I use the PC for reading e-books), but thanks for your generosity, SeduceMePlz, and all the best for your friend in his endeavour. :)

Don't think you really need a portable.
I'm more concerned with e-book DRM policies. ;)

@te_lanus, lugum, tomdelada, & Tallima:

Codes sent.

Enjoy! If you like it, recommend it to a friend or review it on Amazon. :)

Anyone else? I'll be back Thu or Fri to check the thread and send codes.

My friend declined the optional DRM offered by Amazon to authors publishing for Kindle, so the book should have only whatever DRM if any the Kindle format itself contains. (I'm not very familiar with Kindle... ?) Also, he opted for non-exclusive publication (at the cost of receiving a much lesser share of each sale) and can publish the book elsewhere, so I can forward suggestions to him if you have a preferred provider?
Thank you.
Thanks for the code! I can't wait to read it!
That was definitely an enjoyable read. Thank you once again SeduceMePlz.
ooo sounds interesting... impressions people?
if there is another going spare may i be considered for please?
im not the quickest reader and i do have 4 on the go id like to finish one of them before i start another but this sounds right up my street and a refreshing change from what i usually read. - so if yould prefer it to go to someone who isnt as slow as me that really is fine :)

IIRC (I recall reading about it when I begun to use "Calibre" -for those of you who still don't know it, that free software is like the iTunes for e-books-), the Kindle DRM is linked to the device by way of its internal identification number (like IMEI in cell phones). If your friend declined to use it, maybe the book have no DRM. :)

In that case, I'd feel grateful to receive one of the codes, if I may. :)

Because of my current condition (long-term unemployment) I'm restricted to public libraries and friends (for physical copies) and e-books offered for free by their authors, like the ones published by Baen Books in their [url=http://www.baenebooks.com/c-1-free-library.aspx?__utma=222178315.965305642.1379493905.1379493905.1379493905.1&__utmb=222178315.1.10.1379493905&__utmc=222178315&__utmx=-&__utmz=222178315.1379493905.1.1.utmcsr=google|utmccn=%28organic%29|utmcmd=organic|utmctr=%28not%20provided%29&__utmv=-&__utmk=113501700]Free Library[/url]. ;)

(They have a fair amount of authors offering copies of some of their books for free. However, they stick to sci-fi and fantasy settings.)

Perhaps someone else may provide the name of some publisher not including any kind of DRM in its releases unless specified by the author?

EDIT: About DRM-Free publishers, please check the kind reply by HypersomniacLive, just two posts below.

The ebooks on Smashwords are DRM-free and you can pick more than one format.
Authors frequently give their works for free - a handy way for checking is to use something like DailyFreeBooks, they have good filters.

Other sites that do DRM-free:
1. Alliteration Ink.
2. Tor Books UK.
3. obooko (also free ebooks).
4. O'Reilly Media.

I didn't know about DailyFreeBooks, my (certainly primitive) method was checking several publisher sites in a regular basis. :D

Thank you, too, for the kind info about DRM-Free stores, Hypersomniac! :)

DailyFreeBooks (and a number of other such sites) check which digital shops offer daily free ebooks - sadly, that's mainly Amazon.
I prefer DailyFreeBooks because of the variety of efficient filters one can apply, among which is checking only for Smashwords.

If you have some time on your hands, the "Free eBooks And Audio Books To Read Online Or Download" section of Gizmo's Freeware is worth checking out.
