Aningan: Thanks to a mysterious donor I will be playing the Chaos Dwarfs in the next season! Hurray! GOG is an awesome place :)
Probably another coach who watched you playing, and decided that you absolutely need to be separated from your regular dwarves before you steamroll the league. ;)

rcthedigitalhero: How long will these signups be open? I have someone that may be interested.
Signups are open all the time...but at what time youll end up on the reserve list is whole other matter.

I think well start considering division setups roughly 1-2 weeks before the start of Season3 and we'll see then the exact number of players who'll get in for sure.

Ofcourse we'll try to let everyone in who wants to play, but like i said - we'll look into the division size details later. First come first serve and all that :)
In case i wont end up continuing with vamps (kinda want to try the power of 5 blodge-pro vamps..), i am pretty likely to go with either Amazons or Chaos. Or elves. you know how it goes.
ippo: are you sure that you will be ok with dying butterflies (zons)? they are wonderfull, strong, dangerous, but fragile. Nearly to the same extend as Norse team.
I did some experimenting against the AI as Chaos Dwarves and wow ...more fun than the Norse as I had an entire Norse team down to about 3 players just from the constant smashing them....

Yes, I know the AI makes for a poor choice when trying out new teams but it was late at night for me and I wasn't feeling up to snuff to play against another human being :D

no decisions yet - but really, zone's wouldnt be one bit less fragile than anything else ive player so far. Ive buried my share of norse and thralls + regenless vampires ;)

Sure zones will get pound to meat paste against any dwarf/chaos dwarf team - but cant have anything?

Then again, id really like to do a proper chaos team once. ...and try the leveled up vamp team. Well, we'll see how my mood changes. I mean, any elven team might be fun to try as well - despite i have no idea whatsoever how to play with pure ST3 team. Zones would atleast have easy access to fair amount of guard.
If I do put the Dinos on the back burner, I'm considering either Chorfs or Chaos.
Chaos have the potential for non squishy ball carriers, but start with no skills so take a while to become effective.
Chorfs seem like a middle ground between that & my lizards.
Starting skills on the front liners & centaurs to do the work.
I'm just not completely sold on the hobgobs...

Thralls with funny hats and no bloodlust to worry about - sounds like heaven to me :)

I guess I'm comparing them to my skinks.
St3, but no speed or dodgy goodness....

Cheap AV7 fodder with general skill access. Its matter of taste, whether one like more 40k undead who are better at taking hits or thralls/hobbies who actually have decent speed and decent agility.

Anyways, its nice to have some cheap players to throw at your opponent. Ive even scored and passed with them once. ...After 11 matches that doesnt sound too convincing does it?

...i must admit, that if it looks like we are getting sudden influx of chaos dwarves and dwarves, i may want to take the chaos (or something else) over amazons.

TwisterBE: Sign me up for this season with a new team. I learned a lot from my mistakes in season 2 and i'm ready to try again.
Any ideas yet are we going to see more Happy Tree Friends or perhaps something else? No need to decide for long time yet - just curious :)
I'm going to try and play a few matches in the GOG Open League over the weekend with a Chaos Dwarf team if people are available.

I think initially regular Dwarfs are better than Chaos Dwarfs, but as you develop your team, the Chaos will come out ahead. Ok, so I don't like the hobgoblins, but as your team grows you'll have 6 Chaos Dwarfs, 2 Bull Centaurs and 1 Minotaur. That leaves only 2 spots for hobgoblins. By that time you should have a couple with a few decent skill ups, and a few more hobgoblins in the reserve box shouldn't be that hard to have (low price) in case those 2 get pummeled.

I'm only afraid of the first few matches because picking up the ball look like it will be a complete pain in the ass. I also think the Bull Centaur can become a monster with a few lucky skill ups.

Once you get Block on him, he just tears through everything :D

I played a Chaos Dwarf vs. Norse game and I managed to finally score in any Blood Bowl game ...only because I knocked out the opposition :D

I would not say "better", but different. Both bash - but in way different way. ChD are more fragile because of hobbies -> but then again you can afford 2 hobbies with price of one dwarf blocker, soo more bodies in dugout...err bench. Fouling is also more viable strategy if its your cup of tea. Also ChD are far faster + have STR advantage over regular dwarves. Then ofcourse, if you get lots of doubles, ChD will have some claw which can have some really nasty impact against heavily armored teams.

What regular dwarves are better at is whole lot of skills -> easy to start and later on have more stand firm and what not. Alot. Also higher AV9 over the whole team.

So its really which sort of gameplay you like - more grindy or bit of bash and dash.

Some statistics: http://naf.talkfantasyfootball.org/lrb6.html

ChD 5# and dwarves 7#.
I'm startig to have some weird ideas, like giving khorne demons a try...
That or Goblins or Khemri...
Although I could end with orks or dwarves, if they are not too overpopulated...
Aggh, I like too many teams...
