That's a bummer to hear, Blood cost me many nights of sleep playing multi on the old dial up modem. /Memories

phanboy4: Anyway, back to Blood, yeah, my favorite Build engine game. I wish we could get something like eDuke for Blood, but since it appears Monolith lost the source code we probably won't unless some brave soul reverse engineers the whole thing.
Works pretty well in DosBox, and you can get CD copies of plain Blood (Not OUWB) for about $10 last I checked.
I've got a two player match working in DOSBox before, but I had problems with it going out of sync pretty quick with more than two players. Even with two I had hiccups.
I haven't tried with 0.73 yet, so the situation might have improved. I came across the two cd set a few years back cheap in a local Goodwill, so you may have similar results on Amazon or eBay. All you'll need is disc 1 to install and play the background music, so that may make it a little easier to find.
Found this post, hope it's true.

I've been hoping to see the entire Blood series put up on GOG. We know that both Monolith (Shogo) and GT Interactive (UT) have allowed their games to be put up on GOG, so I don't see why we couldn't eventually see Blood, Blood II, and addons to be on GOG one of these days. They would be a day 1 purchase for me.
There will be blood!

Atari didn't allow the Unreal games to be here. They didn't have any say in the matter. Epic own the IP. Hence why they're listed as the publisher. So Unreal's presence here is not indicative either way as to whether or not Atari will sell titles through GOG.
Back in the days I remember to have read not so flattering reviews of this game... something like "a sick Doom rip-off" or whatever....

It's a Doom ripoff in the same way every pre-HL1 shooter was. I still think it's the best Build engine game, slightly edging out Duke 3D on the atmosphere front. And you'll notice on sites like MobyGames the user rating is quite high, so it's not a game to be dismissed.

I would like to take this opportunity to express that I am also a little surprised and frightened by this. Constantly. It's insane, actually.

Interesting that you say that, since I consider hl1 a doom ripoff too. : )
But actually, Shadow Warrior was the best build engine game. Come to think of it, why isnt Shadow Warrior here? Duke3d and Rise of the Triad are, so why not Lo Wang?
But I dont see why not blood could be here. Who owns the rights of Shogo these days?

I read some time ago that there is one guy, one the members of a blood remake on a slightly more recent engine, who has the full source code, but he won't release it because of Atari not liking him doing so.

I suspect the mentality comes from the same place that branding uses in business, but it's just a hunch. Kindof like how religion came from an overactive survival instinct.

No, they just pretend to have that attitude because to avoid having the banhammer swung at them. :D

Banhammer weilded by whom? The non-existant GOG police? Noone is advocating piracy, but truth is truth. People get so caught up in campaigning for corporations whose sole objective is to continue to bloat, and bloat themselves to the point of absurdity, with no check on their debachery outside regulation.
Hence, it's up to us as citizens to ensure we lay out clearly what we will and will not allow corporations to do to us, and have it entrenched in law, or else, we have no right to complain as the corporations replace governments, like what is starting to happen in the USA now.
