Ixamyakxim: Do I need to make an account or can I just download The Lost Vikings?
You can simply download it:

Thanks! I recently saw previews for some Ubisoft game with WWI characters and cartoon type graphics, and the description made it sound almost like The Lost Vikings... which made me REALLY want to go play TLV - looks like I might be able to after all!

Ghorpm: but rather reuse the graphics from the base game but that's hardly a reason to call it a bad expansion.

tinyE: XD Find me an expansion that doesn't in some way do that? Some are worse than others. I love Half-Life but shit they didn't even bother to change the location for some of those! "Send them into the same instillation with a different character, they won't notice!" :P
That's what I said - I don't believe Hellfire was labeled as "bad" just because bard looks exactly like rogue. That's why I would like to know the real reason. I'm aware that you and JMich may not be the perfect persons to ask that question since you do like it but perhaps you know what other people complained about :)

It's been so long since I played it and I only used the Monk which was cool until LoD gave us the Assassin which was like the Monk only a lot stronger and faster. I'm playing D2 with the Assassin as we speak, love that girl. :D

JMich: It's not bad, it's excellent. But as I recall, it was published by Sierra On-Line, not Blizzard, thus the rights are a mess.
Except... remember who it was that bought Sierra? I really don't think rights are an issue here.

While Activision and Blizzard are both subsidaries of Activision-Blizzard, they're both quite independent of each other (as far as I've heard and remember), I doubt either of them automatically has rights to the other's IP or products, but rather that they need to enter various agreements like any other companies.

Activision, but are the Sierra rights with Activision-Blizzard now or with Vivendi?

Looking at who publishes Space Quest, the Impressions games, etc. here, they seem to be with ATVI.

Crosmando: Heh, I wonder how they managed to put Rock n' Roll Racing up, wouldn't they need permission from Nintendo to use snes roms?
avatar
Nergal01: Probably. That might also explain why it's a demo version.
That and the full game had some copyrighted songs that they probably don't have rights to anymore. (Seems there's only one song in this version.)

I have to imagine the reason back then was it cost too much for what little it added. The expansion was fine and when I played it, they were dirt cheap (didn't play the first Diablo and Hellfire until I was already playing D2).

Good point. :)
Hellfire is great. Nothing wrong with it. I did a couple full runs with my characters for it back in the day. Good times. ^_^
When Blizzard go around releasing their older games I love them, when they continue to keep Diablo 3 locked to online to play single player I hate them.
Oh how they tear at my emotions.

this +1

whole heartily agree with that statement.
Can someone help clear something up for me, does Diablo 3 actually suck? I've been playing a lot of D2 recently and when I hear about the changes in #3 it sounds like a mess which would lead me to think that all the DRM wouldn't matter because it's all for a shit game, but I keep hearing from people that would love to play it but for the DRM. Yes I realize I am asking for very subjective answers here. :D
