monkeydelarge: blow up dolls sell too.
Blow-up dolls, what is this 2002? Japan has been selling life-like silicon dolls for ages now

Yeah, but they cost like $10,000 and are a lot more difficult to hide from your mom. Edit: That's what a friend told me.

Sorry, I got mixed up in prepositions. Whose mom was the friend hiding the dolls from?
Blackthooorrrne! Yes! Finally!
Count me in with the people hoping this heralds a "early Warcraft games rerelease" (just look at the avatar!)

Jekadu: Wicked. Just a shame there is no gamepad support. Anyone know of a way to make it work?
You might try JoyToKey.
Warcraft 1 is coming!

tinyE: Thanks, I was looking for an in game map but it's not a big deal. Right now I'm currently playing Gta 3, VC, and SA at the same time. That's not counting EE2 which I picked up here a few days ago and Blackthorn which I got yesterday. Yes, this is the life of an innkeeper off season. :D

skeletonbow: I just installed San Andreas this week to try to get through the whole game this time around. Only made it a few missions in and fell asleep playing. :) Great game, going to get through it all this time. I've got Vice City on CD also and never finished that one so I might go through it again sometime too. Only have those and the first two games though. I'd like to pick up the rest of them one of these days, and GTA5 looks amazing.
I only played Vice City for the radio stations. I found it relaxing just cruise around for a bit after a long day.

Even if it is I don't think I would want to play that one anymore. Its interface is as painfully dated as Dune 2's.

Such precious innocence, being a little spoiled with hotkeys are we?

There's something to be said about modern conveniences. I enjoyed those games back in their heydays, but it's tough going back to them now. I also clearly remember Warcraft having some less-than-stellar AI pathing system, especially in groups.

Well, I can't really argue about the AI

To me, the interface seems like it would work well on a tablet, if only it were ported to work on one...
But perhaps I don't remember it completely. It has been a couple of years since I played the first.
Does anyone here still play Warcraft 2? Yes the aforementioned path finding can be pain but it's not because the characters are stupid, it's because they are bulky or a better example is it's like playing an RTS using tetris blocks as troops, and I'm okay with that. When you tell someone to go somewhere they may not get there but it won't be for lack of brains ie walking off a cliff.
didn't read the whole thread, but...

When I run the game, I get only a black screen. I'm running on windows 7, the sound works, but the screen just goes black. Am I the only one?
Bumping this to mention that a Mac version of Blackthorne is now available to download. So you don't have to look through the whole thread again, the link is here:
