Stooner: If they add some DRM-Free downloads (or at least Desura keys for some games), I bet they would attract a lot of customers..
I don't doubt it, especially with that high-quality selection of games. That's a really sweet package they have on offer.

Yah, I really want that new Archon title. Can't find it anywhere DRM-free though, so it's pretty much a lost cause for now.

Ah cool, thanks! I didn't check GG, as they seem to be weak on DRM-free these days. Glad to see this one is an exception. I'll set up an alert for now, but if it doesn't go on sale soon I'll just buy it outright.

I was a fiend for Archon on the Commodore 64, a great versus game against a living person and not bad against the computer either.

Yeah, wait a little bit. Is on a bundle now, so I guess it'll probably be discounted sometime soon...
Or who knows? Maybe the people behind the BB will change their minds (perhaps when hell freezes over)?

I never even heard about this game before, but I don't see too many bad reviews (nostalgia?), could be interesting...

My thinking as well - since it's in a bundle, GG might climb down on the price soon.

The original is great, one of the pre-eminant fight-for-territory strategy games of all time. Only rivaled by Master Of Monsters on the Sega Genesis for my affections in that regard.

Hey, those screens looks a lot like the Fire Emblem games, is this Archon close to that? Because that would be something I'd enjoy...

There are similarities, yes. Though in the case of Archon, the battleground is a chess board rather than territories. And you have to conduct the fighting yourself, which makes it more arcade-like that the strategy titles. You still need to be strategic too though, especially on the squares that cycle through the times of day.

And if you've never played Master Of Monsters, I very much recommend it. Even emulated it's great.

No, it's closer to chess, but when two pieces meet, you get to control the fight.

Thanks!
Well, I grew tired of chess... but I guess something similar could heal that...

I'll try it! I was more of a Nintendo guy at the time... ;p
Oh boy, oh, boy, oh boy
Being a fan from back in the C64 day, I've been hoping that Archon would be in a Steam sale and bugging GOG to get it for ages
I've just been playing it and yeah, totally worth the wait - loving the cheese rawk covers of all the old SID tunes too!
$4.99 tier bonus game is Astro Tripper. It's been in the April Fools IR bundle before.

EDIT: And they dropped the 2nd week price increase.

"We're adding on Astro Tripper (from PomPom Games) and decided to drop the whole 2nd week price increase. This includes all future bundles as well.

The most common complaint about bundles seemed to be the sales gimmicks that either pressured early sales, or make people regret buying early. We have decided to avoid the practices entirely.

With future bundles we're just going to give you a better reason to buy early...and that reason should be because you want to play the games. We will however continue to offer the guaranteed unlocks with future bundles.

Blink Bundle has been overwhelmed by the support of the first bundle. We've had one of the best bundle debuts in a few years. We are going to take around a week off before launching #2. This way we can patch any issues we've come across, and hopefully we can also implement some additional features that people have been requesting.

A few of the games have already been locked down for #2. We're confident that people will be very surprised in a couple weeks."
