Physicser: I'm trying to get the torrent, but I can't get to it, seems like gameupdates.org is broken (and that's where the torrent is apparently hosted).

(Edited for clarity, since I realized my original post could be confusing)
If you add some public torrent trackers you might have some luck. I get ~500k on the torrent

Thanks! Now I can actually start downloading things!

Thank you!
The Black Mesa Facebook page posted this torrent - it has some extra trackers which might get it downloading a little bit faster than that previous magnet link (you can add the trackers from the .torrent file to the active torrent).

EDIT: downloading and uploading as fast as my connection allows. Download ETA 1h 8m...

It's finally down, and installing as I'm typing this. Installation takes quite a while... In fact, the installation process seems to freeze up occasionally, and then suddenly sprint ahead in short bursts. Dunno if it's just my machine acting weird or what.
Got to download two of the three things needed to install the mod...but strangely on one of the mirrors I couldn't find the main 3 GB file. On another mirror I keep getting errors. And on another mirror the download is so slow it stopped after a few seconds.

I think I'll wait a week before downloading the installer and other stuff. Although I did get the Source 2007 Base so I have it halfway finished.
wow..cant believe its acctualy out
I waited years for this mod and now when it's available i lost my interest in it . :(

The same thing will happen to Half Life 3.

Try using the magnet link (BitTorrent) someone posted earlier. It worked for me. Took about 2 hours to download the whole thing. Just remember to delete the spaces that somehow got into the link when it was posted.

I think that was something to do with the forum software here - there might be a limitation on the number of characters in a single word.

Using the "Add torrent from URL" function in uTorrent, it doesn't seem to matter if there are any spaces or not.

Played a little bit of the intro sequence earlier... I think I need to stop forcing SSAO on HL2.exe so that Black Mesa can run at more than 35FPS >_>
Well, now I've tried it...

It's Half-Life 1, more or less just as I remember it, but here's the thing: the way I remember it is colored heavily by my perception of the game at the time, so I remember Half-Life 1 as having excellent graphics. Black Mesa has excellent graphics, so the difference isn't all that noticeable, unless I actually start up the old game and compare. Then the difference would be apparent immediately.

One thing that is apparent is that the areas seem much more alive (at least until everything goes to Hell in a handbasket) than they did in the original. There are many more offices you can enter, many more people present, and they all have their own private conversations going on. It really makes the place come to life.

I haven't gotten very far yet, but all in all, I'm very impressed so far.
