After Mass Effect 3's Ending

these three franchises are on my list of possible bad ending that would stir up the hornets nest that is the internet

Half-Life
StarCraft
Assassin's Creed

On Topic: Finally I always loved Half-Life 1 better then 2, I loved it more because it was more realistic
Yes, this one's getting a little long in the tooth. But I'm still quite looking forward to traversing reimagined Halflife 1 locales. I'm not foaming at the mouth for BM:S, as I was a few years previous, but I'll still be downloading and playing it as soon as possible.

jamyskis: But surely you have a laptop that runs Half-Life 2 to some satisfactory degree. Even my 2008 budget laptop manages HL2 at medium settings at 30fps, and I would expect that Black Mesa will exact similar demands on your hardware.
Dude this laptop doesn't even run Half-Life 1.

Ow, that's bad. My $150 netbook runs Half-Life 1 without a hitch. If your laptop can't run Half-Life 1, I imagine it's not so great for YouTube or modern web browsing in general. You might be overdue for an upgrade. :P

It's a recent one, Core i3 processor. It's just very low end, Intel graphics. It randomly runs some stuff decently, but other stuff not at all.
The soundtrack.

Definitely finding the time for this.

jamyskis: Unlike Georgia apparently, we do have working internet.

StingingVelvet: It's about not taking my gaming PC, not internet access.
Ha! Gaming laptops FTW! :)

(but as Jamyskis says, if it is merely Half-life 2 engine, even my old non-gaming Lenovo T400 laptop can run Half-life 2 engine games quite well. Half-life 2 (including "Lost Coast") pretty much with highest details, Portal 1 with a notch or two lesser details, etc. Depends. If you have a cheapo netbook or mini-PC with Intel graphics, unsure.)

EDIT: Ok, the specifics were discussed already...

What's wrong with the endings? Cliffhanger? And for Starcraft, do you mean with or without Brood War?

mrking58: Agreed. If it is an episode release my guess it won't go anywhere near the xen stuff
avatar
Nergal01: Which is true. The announcement says that the first release will go up to the Lambda Core section, which is basically the level that includes the transition to Xen. Based on that, we're getting a pretty sizeable portion of the game.
If I ever dig out HL1, I usually only play to that point in the game as I can never really be bothered with zen, so this release plan suits me :D

I'd still like to see how they handle zen, though!

StingingVelvet: Ha, a few days after I go back to Europe. Fuuuuuuck.
Don't fret! You can always quit your job and play this and Guild Wars 2! Turn back from Europe while you still can! XD
avatar
Elmofongo: Do i need half life 2 or is it a stand alone game?
You just need the Source SDK (2007, I think)

No I meant the endings that finished the stories like Half Life 3, either Star Craft Legacy of the Xel'naga or 3, and Assassin's Creed 3's Endings could be bad

Yes, but if all you have is Portal from when valve gave it away for free, you won't have Source SDK. Need to have purchased or received one source game for you to be eligible.

I thought it was available free to all Steam users?

The lead developer posted this to the BM:S forums:

Q: Are we going to wait for Xen another 8 years?
A: No. Development on xen is already underway and we hope to have it finished up in a reasonable timeframe. Xen is going to basically be a complete game in its own right, it's not going to be just an epilogue to the game; more of a whole new chapter. It'll be pretty well expanded.

Yay! A whole game of first-person platforming and crawling down crap chutes.
