Ok, so today is my birthday, and as I sit here bored outta my tiny little mind... It occured to me to ask you people here in the land of GoG...

How do you celebrate your birthdays? It's a general thing to ask true, but once you get past things like 21, birthdays tend to lose their magic and well... you may get into a routine, be it with a few friends, drinking in a bar, or a family night in etc... so again, HOW do YOU celebrate your birthday generally?

The only hard rule I follow is not to do anything I don't want to do.
So I take the day off work.
Anything else is fairly random...

Depends... When I was younger, usually my dad would take me and my friends for a pizza or something like that.

Nowadays, I just want to be with my girl, doing something together (watching movies, playing games, stuff like that).

EDIT: Forgot, sorry... Happy birthday! :)

Usually spend the day with the kids and spend the evening gaming and having a few quiet JD's.
Happy birthday Ace

As for me, I try to avoid them, I havent really seen much point in it since I was about 12. I found reason to be away from home, or lied and said I had to work...

Im an oddball I guess.
Usually I don't do much, I'm in the same situation as you. Now that I'm over 20 I could really care less about my birthday. Last year though I was treated at Hollywood Boulevard for movie/dinner/drinks that was fun.

Oh, and happy birthday!

Don't worry, I don't tend to celebrate birthdays either, lack of funds mean I can't even treat myself to a cold brewski down my local unfortunately.

Thanks all for the birthday wishes :)
Happy birthday.

My birthday has a habit of falling on an exam day, so I have often taken an exam (once a matriculation examination, oh the horror!). Then I'm tired and eat excessive amounts of candy, get more tired as a result and end up lying on the floor shouting gibberish about how "THE CANDY DON'T WORK, MAAN!" (also "who stole my jiiive"). I wish I was exaggerating.

Other than that, I keep reminding people that it's my birthday and collect congratulations. It's almost like life points, but not at all!
Happy Birthday!

I don't celebrate mine because I feel there is not much to celebrate. Life will suck regardless of what would I do and one day off won't help that much.

Sorry for bringing my ranting to your B-day thread, I'll leave now.
I have now officially celebrated my birthday by buying myself Sacred Gold xD It's a bit much when you have to buy your own presents lol but oh well!
Happy Happy Birthday!

You should do whatever you feel like doing, after all, how many days a year does one have an excuse for that!

I've had many birthdays (really, many) and usually there's a party involved thrown either by a family member or a friend or myself. This year, however, I am in exhausted hibernation mode and family and friends didn't step up, so I told the hubby I wanted fried chicken and Ben & Jerry's (do they sell that in the UK?). I also insisted that I get to watch what I want on the good TV - we have different tastes and I very often defer to him - or leave the room to play computer games. Doesn't sound exciting, but it was good, self-indulgent, fun. And we Tauruses are really good at self-indulgence, or so they say. Enjoy!
I just received word that I passed this one really difficult (to me at least) course (with minimum score). Honestly speaking, I wasn't expecting to pass it. So, I have concluded that it must have been your birthday magic at work.

acemarch, check your PM, and consider yourself birthday'ed.

At least you get something you want, so that's a plus.

If I'm traveling, I may treat myself to a nicer dinner than I would normally have on the road. If home, I'll try to get some drive time on the cycle or convertible, weather permitting. If weather sucks, then a bit of gaming and I'll make the wife and I something nice for dinner.

Happy birthday, by the way.
