Yup, my age-o-meter is going up a notch again. I was planning on having a big giveaway that would take fucking ages for me to deal with, one that would have a relatively expensive prize. Then I realized that it was long overdue, I am rather poor and that I just generally couldn't be bothered.

As a result, I am giving away one copy of... Euro Truck Simulator 2 (which requires Steam; if you think this is balls, vote for it on the wishlist). Please don't go away yet - I've found it a very relaxing and enjoyable game despite my initial skepticism. It helped me calm down during stressful times in the autumn without making me seek relief in substance abuse. More importantly, it was on sale and cost like four euros.

So, to enter, say that you are in and do either or both of the following:
1. Tell what's stressing you out at the moment.
2. Tell of another game that has held your hand through times of trouble.

Minimum rep requirement 20. I would prefer everyone to have an equal chance of winning, so no entering for other members, please, as nice as it would be of you. Random.org will do the rest on April 12.
First of all, Happy Birthday, AlKim! :)

Not in, but thanks for your generosity.

As for your questions, Wing Commander 4: The Price of Freedom did help me at the time to go through a hard moment on my life. ;)
A game to reduce your stress level? sure i am in.
What is giving stress now? alot, but life basically.
happy birthday! In & +1!

What's stressing me is my financial situation since it isn't the "greatest" one might I say :P
Not in but +1 and congrats on your stat increase!
I don't meet the rep for the Ga but... I played through the WIzardry games (I II III IV V VI) with Overkill, Slayer, and Metallica blasting throughout high school. I was the stereotypical stoner... long hair, highly intelligent but did not fit into any of the social schemas at the shool, likes Heavy Metal...Death Metal, and Stoner music like Sabbath and stuff, except I did not smoke. I think playing those games with a few friends over and rocking out kept us all from spending our youths stoned all day.

To this day if I hear an overkill song, I immediately smile and think back to those times. Metallica makes me think of all the concerts I saw them play, and Slayer actually makes me think of moshing.

For a different story, I can tell you of my wife....she uses the SIMS games like this. After a day of the kids trying her patience, not listening, and general stress, she will relax and play the SIMS after bedtime. She says that being able to tell the virtual kids to do something and they actual do it is good for her mental state. and seeing that our kids are not virtual reminds her that it is not all bad. When she is not stressed she usually plays starcraft II...with one or more of the kids. We have 4 licenses for just about all Blizzard games so her and I can play with any 2 of our kids. HAppy Birthday and +1 for the GA.

Wow I bought WCIV then broke up with a long term girlfriend.. . it was a wierd and stressful breakup, but to summarize I am HAPPILY married to another woman, and I have never played WCIV, though I still own it, and I keep it in the cabinet with the back log of games on disk... I have moved it 4 times now as we moved to appartments, houses, and I see the game a lot since I am in that cabinet to get blank media a lot, and it reminds me that if I had NOT broken up with that girl, I would not have gotten involved with the love of my life.

I'm in.

I've almost finished my university studies and will enter the work force soon. Kinda nervous about finding my first job.

When ever I'm tired/stressed I like to play killing floor. The mindless FPS just eases everything out :D.

Glad to know you did meet your best-half, but...

... you've never played the fourth installment of the series?! Oh, shame on you, blasphemer! :P

(you should try it some time, IMO it's the best title of the series) ;)

I'm in.

1. My financial/work situation, not going to post the details here obviously but suffice it to say I've not had a solid night of sleep for the past 8 months.
2. Minecraft I suppose, the exploration in it often relaxes me.

Also, congratulations.
Thanks and happy birthday

The thing that bore me most now is that I have such not a real work, even if (lol) I work for nine hours and thirty each day for five days every week...for just 300€ each month. Better then nothing, but it's not the best thing in the world.

The second one is easy: MGS1. I played it a lot of times, recently (two weeks ago) I did another run on it.
Happy Birthday!
I'm in and what better to stress one out than one's job.
As strange as it seems, my stress relief game of choice is Spider Solitaire.
Happy Birthday! Not in though...

A few games relieve stress for me - Faerie Solitaire is one as are online jigsaw puzzles ;-)
Happy birthday! not in but thanks +1

the university is a bit stressing sometimes. I like erase the stress klling in some FPS games.
Sorry for my bad english
Not in, but Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday you old bastard. ;)

I'm in. +1 for the giveaway.

As for the requirements, I'll just go with the top one:

What's stressing me out right now is my current job. Not in the sense that "Oh god, there's more work than I can handle. HALP!", but that my client doesn't seem to want anything to do with me and there's no one else to work with. I've been in a lot of interviews for the past few months trying to get something else that will actually have hours for me, but that's not going so well either. So yeah, it's not the best situation I'm in right now, but it could be a hell of a lot worse.

Can't think of a game that relaxes me off the top of my head, but I guess I'll go with Terraria and Starbound. Both of which aren't particularly hard (unless you turn the roguelike modes on), and I could just screw around with anything and everything available.
