Just got an email to say they have had unauthorised access to the 10 year old forum details...
Fuck me in the neck! I got one too. No credit card details or anything lost, but license keys... I did have two or three registered there.
License Keys to NWN don't matter much, since you're already registered and that's what they're for :)

I just changed my EA account password for security, though.
EA pass changed. Again.
Damnit.

I don't think I had any CD-Keys on there, though, so I guess they got nothing from my account. I hope.
Can't login to my EA account, this is messed up.

Had quite a few games on there.

Sent multiple Forgot password requests and haven't gotten anything back yet.

I don't care much though, my dealings with EA have been massively unsatisfactory, and i hardly played the games on said account.

This is not a good way to get Origin started, with such a hack.

EDIT: Finally got back in, seriously industry, fix your security issues, I know your a bunch of cheap jerks who would sell your mom for a buck. but this is a serious issue.

I never even used those old forums and yet got the email saying my old EA account password has been reset - an account that doesn't even have any Bioware games connected to it =/.

Methinks they are being overly cautious and resetting account passwords regardless. Which is pretty annoying.

Either that or they're downplaying what happened.
Got it too

Used the link to update my password but it then prompts me to create an ID master and refuses whatever I put in the field ...

I'm not going to spend the whole day trying to find what they expect from me.

I'm not so sure. My other EADM account, the one I actually use these days (the old one only has Spore Creature Creator and Burnout Paradise on it) didn't have it's password reset.

I think if this were a larger problem, they'd have reset all accounts. Methinks then, that their system for resetting accounts is buggered.
I got the message too, though I don't even remember using those forums.

I tried it a couple times without luck, as well. I am guessing they have shut down service to all related accounts as a precaution. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless your login/password are identical.
EDIT:

Perhaps a stupid question, but how do I even GET to the old Bioware forums? I had an account there, but the last I checked it was shortly after NWN2 came out. Every time I try to get to a 'Bioware login' I get sent to Bioware Social. Were they merged when I wasn't looking?

Heck, even Googling for my handle there, then following a link to one of my (very) old posts just takes me to the Bioware Social page, not to the post itself. Bleh.

How long are the links supposed to be valid? I just got the email and the link was already invalid. I clicked on the "Generate new reset email" link and entered my address, and still haven't received a new link. These "forgot password" automated emails are supposed to be instant. And who ever heard of a reset link that expired in less than eight hours of sending the email in the first place? The minimum amount of time you're to allow a user is twelve to fourteen hours.

Links such as that tend to expire within 1 to 24 hours depending on the settings used. And yes, emails such as that tend to be instant except in cases where the mail server is bombarded with requests -- such as will happen when many accounts are forced to reset their passwords at once.
As a user of the old and new Bioware forums. If you had your keys registered for NWN and or NWN2 then you as of this time cannot see your keys. If the game(s) is/are still installed then all you need to do is look for the CDKEY.ini file.

If they are going to reset up the forums with the keys is still up in the air. The reset feild does not work. They do know about the situation and are trying to work on it.

Just in. It seems that I have gotten the email notice. So I think they have done this to all who have visted or have registered at the old forums. It's a good thing that at some places I have a way to get on. Where I am now I cannot log in.

Yeah, here is a link to a Bioware Social forum thread bitching about this same issue: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/199/index/7641310/1

I had quite a few keys registered there. NWN and all expansions, NWN2 and all expansions, Jade Empire, and Knights of the Old Republic. Oh well, I still have the hard copies for all those games with the CD-Keys in the box.

The main issue is that I don't think the e-mail I used to register my account there is one I currently use, so I was hoping to log in to change my details that way. No dice it seems.

EDIT: Yeah, I got the e-mail just now as well. So, either I did actually update my e-mail for the old account, or they are just mass mailing everyone that could be affected.
