Crowned: Mass Effect more or less coming to a closure, I am experiencing a strange void. I think I'll try Dragon Age at some point, there just aren't that many rpg's coming out these days that interest me.

Fair enough, he was named. It's still speculation, though, since Trent Oster hasn't been a Bioware employee for the past two years.

You're correct, my bad.

It doesn't change my opinion about the article though, or about the IGN brand of gaming "journalism". It's quite a stretch between "he looked exhausted" and "the fan reaction made him quit", and the article doesn't provide any facts to bridge that gap. From the way the article is written, it doesn't even look as if Oster and Zeschuk exchanged a single syllable about the fan reaction - all this is just speculation from Oster, who by that time was clearly an outsider.

This is not journalism, it's (so far) completely unfounded gossip.

But yep, criticizing an article for not presenting any facts, and then getting a part of one's own facts wrong, is rather pathetic. Thanks for putting it right.

Did they ever fix the performance problems with TW2? I have yet to get that game to actually run at a playable rate despite having a rig that ought to be able to handle it.

I wish CDPR would spend some time actually optimizing their software.

If you compare version 1.0 to 3.2 I think there's probably a large difference. Take a look here: Witcher 2 Tweakguide

Also, at nexus there's a tweaker mod: Witcher 2 Tweaker

I tried the mod myself but I didn't get it to change the ini files so I changed them manually.

I think the last time I tried was with 2.0. It's a moot point right now as my rig here in China definitely can't handle it seeing as it's a dual core 1.6ghz, but my computer back home should.

I actually have no idea. What I do know is that I was playing the game on a hardware that hardly met minimal specs, right after relese.

Sequiro: If more and more people especially the people behind the decisions and direction of the games leave, then Bioware won't really be Bioware, it will just be so in name only.
It's not like the situation is anything new. Bioware (like all companies of that size) are in constant state of flux. The company has grown a lot, and it has always had people coming and going. How many people from the Baldur's Gate days remain? I'm not sure how much decision power the doctors have practically had for years now. There's EA above, and I don't think they have been doing a lot of game design lately either.

Interesting, mine was over the minimum requirements and it was unplayable slow. Dual core AMD 5300+, 4 GB of RAM. I can't recall what my GPU was at the time, but it should have been able to easily beat out a GeForce 8800.

Even after the 2.0 update I still couldn't play.

I agree. There's a tendency to give those that yell the loudest the greatest weight when making decisions. But, they might very well be a vocal minority. Even if they are making more noise than everybody else combined.
