If more and more people especially the people behind the decisions and direction of the games leave, then Bioware won't really be Bioware, it will just be so in name only.

You will eventually get to the point that those that fight for traditional Bioware game philosophy will be gone and EA philosophy will be all that's left. I can see EA devouring Bioware completely eventually.

They have been for two generations one of my top 5 developers. I have yet to play ME3 just because I haven't had the money to buy it. But ME 1 and 2 are just incredible... But I did try TOR and while it definitely needs work on balance, end game content and some optimization issues. The storyline was still above and beyond I think EA and Bioware and well many fans are giving up on the game too soon. Address the faults and TOR still could be an incredible MMO.

I can't believe they let the negativity get to them. My favorite dev list is taking a pounding lately.. first all the troubles with Silicon Knights and now Bioware drama... :(

This has already been discussed in detail, for days. See here.

Personally, the thing _I_ can't believe is that so many people still read IGN, and take articles seriously which do nothing else but spreading _speculations_ from an unnamed former employee. The substance in this article is not even paper-thin.

The only new thing I hated from Bioware was Dragon Age 2 but thats it.

From my experiance with Mass Effect 1 and 2 gameplay wise I am not gonna hate 3 that much.

And I never threw a fist at SWTOR at all, I don't hate WOW clones that much.
TOR is their only outright blunder so far IMO. Whining about the ME3 ending is just that, and the game overall sold and reviewed very well. Dragon Age 2 suffered from lack of development time but I don't expect them to make that mistake again.

The company is floundering a bit but it's far from dead.

The quality of their games has been steadily decreasing on every game since DA:O. ME3 improved combat and botched the story, and the added multiplayer could have been scrapped in favour of a more diverse/robust campaign. DA2 was a rushed mess that had poor story developement, and I can't comment on TOR. EA is well on their way to running the studio into the ground.
I did a search for "Bioware" before posting mine and I didn't see this, otherwise wouldn't have posted. So I'm not too broken up about posting a double topic.

Dare I say it but I was not impressed by Mass Effect 1 campaign that much, not that much setpiece, memorable momens except Virmire imo. ME2 is kinda the same so far as I have not beaten the game yet and both games don't have multiplayer.

Dragon Age Origins was 10x deeper then both of those games imo.

This, except that I wouldn't even go so far as to say it's "floundering"--DA2 was rushed, as you say, but they seem to have learned from their mistakes, and as for TOR? Well I haven't played it (not my thing), but one bad game would still just be one bad game. They do need to start developing new games and franchises; DA and ME are great, but a little diversity wouldn't hurt them.

(It's not a new franchise, but I wouldn't say no to a Jade Empire sequel.)

As for the article, I neither know nor care why these people left. Companies lose people, companies gain people, and hopefully a level of quality will be maintained.

Except it's not an unnamed employee. It clearly states the ex bioware employee (Trent Oster). This ex-employee could be right in his speculation also, he makes some good points. Is his speculation correct, who knows.

Unnamed? They say right in the article that they were talking to Trent Oster.
Trent Oster's resume
I think they definitely still have hope. I for one was completely satisfied with ME3 (Although -- POSSIBLE SPOILERS -- my ending turned out very, very sad. But my Shepard played his role to the end, that I can give him. One of the stronger roleplaying experiences of my life so far.)

Mass Effect more or less coming to a closure, I am experiencing a strange void. I think I'll try Dragon Age at some point, there just aren't that many rpg's coming out these days that interest me.

I don't think the co-founders leaving the industry is necessarily that much of an ill omen, but it remains to be seen. I think they do need to listen to fan feedback. On the other hand, I don't like listening to fans too much, your own vision needs to be retained.
