I hope I didn't put it across to mean everyone who didn't like the thread or joke, just those downrating OP is all for posting it(I of course mean those doing it because they're in a bad mood or some other bad reaosn of course)....not everyone who disliked the joke.

And I also meant(of the ones specifically outlined above) those who didn't just dislike the joke but hated OP for posting it. That's all. Sorry for the confusion or if I offended you somehow.

lol, where have I heard this before?? This forum consists of an international membership and you post something that belittles a specific nationality expecting none to find it . . . if not offensive . . than just inappropriate and vote accordingly . . AS THEY ALWAYS DO AND SHOULD . . . if offended.

It's not "people" sitting in "lofty castles" . . . it's the community as a whole responding to anything they feel is inappropriate. The membership is well educated, worldly, hip, mostly mature and internet savvy having moved on from 4chan years ago. If they want 4chan they know where to find it and prefer to not have it served up on their favorite gaming forum.

What do you expect the response to be when you post something that will appeal to a few members and offend even more . . . somehow only those that approve will have an opinion and +1 your post?

Why are you so surprised when the community responds in a predictable fashion?

Funny how sometimes things are offensive/spam when one member posts them(not saying me btw but anyone) and when another member posts similarly(i've seen it happen) the results are totally different.

(As an example I noticed several silly threads started here on GOG in the past week or so and depending on who the member was some were uprated and some were low rated, regardless if the content was offensive or not.)

It's not the whole community, (There are exceptions I know.) it's mainly just a small bunch of men and women who think it's their duty to be the shunning/content police of GOG.com....not many here vote.......if everyone or most voted the meter would likely break and posts ratings would fluctuate so fast your heads would spin.

And don't tell me everyone votes fairly and applies an even standard.....i'm guessing at least some unfairly rate stuff down for unfair reasons.

C'mon, you act as if you KNOW how many people here downrated OP's post or disliked it, or how most would respond(of all GOGgers total). You have concrete numbers to back that up?

And I think OP expects people on both sides to say their peace on the topic at hand and interact with each other or leave. Not voting down his OP solely because they don't think his type of humor/content belongs on GOG while chastising him to death.

Noooo . . . You think it's a "small bunch of men and women" trying to police content. You used to add "old timers" to the list of conspirators as well. The community is who determines what is appropriate by -1 / + 1 repping what they like and dislike. No matter how many time you imply a small group is hating and policing . . . it is not true . . . especially to those who are active on the GOG forum.

I can tell you immediately when a post will be down repped . . . it really simple to determine. Once the down repping starts . . . you will proceed to make the accusations that a small group is responsible and then attack anyone who disagrees with YOUR point of view.

People vote as they see fit and should not be criticized for voting neg reps when they are offended.

No, I have no idea how many down-repped the OP . . . I simply see it was down repped and now it's not . . . with you defending a post found to be offensive by the community post and ridiculing all that found it offense.

Also I have had several PMs from people saying they police content in this forum and do such shunning tactics here, both to me in the past and others here currently. Make of that what you will. BTW I still add some old timers on the list......I just made the description basic so as not to single anyone out.

I was "defending" it because I saw no reason for it to be downrepped, i'd do the same if anyone's post were unfairly downrated....not just roman's or mine. I also wasn't ridiculing everyone. Read my one post on this page a bit above. I clearly stated who I took offense to and why. I wasn't ridiculing anyone unfairly afaik.

I found it funny. I think the guy reading the posts in one of the previously linked videos is the same guy who hosts "Ownage Pranks", and I just love that show. Sure he has some stereotypes that may offend some people, but he never uses them to be spiteful. It's just for fun.

This is what some just don't get.....it's all in good fun, not to be racist(If the original poster wrote it not in azn stereotype speak I bet everyone mad about the OP post would be less com-plaintive about it at any rate)....and to get back at a nasty Bioware mod as well. :)
