It might look better than DA2, but it still is quite disappointing. Or, to be precise, would be disappointing if I actually had any expectations regarding it. As it is now, tbh I dont put any expectations into AAA releases as all it can lead to is disappointment.
Also, I maintain my stance that everything about it seems utterly bland, generic and uninspired.
All of the releases I'm excited about are either Kickstarter projects (Wasteland 2, Torment Tides of Numenera, Pillars of Eternity and Kingdom Come - though this has funding also outside of KS) or CD Projekt games (especially Cyberpunk - I love that setting).
CD Projekt is the only non-kickstarter studio that I know will never bring me disappointment.
But as I said, if it turns out all right, I might try it, treating it like a pulpy, but somewhat enjoyable experience.
As to the combat - I dont get their choice. Whats up with this action combat?? If I wanted to play a slasher, I'd prefer Devil May Cry / Bayonetta style game, which executes the combat in a lot more sophisticated manner.
Here, the end result seems that the combat falls short of traditional RPGs from a tactical standpoint, and of proper action games (slashers in particular) from an action / player involvement.
Still, I obviously have not played the game, so this aspect might in reality be enjoyable, but I cant help it, but be sceptic, seeing that all this producer / BS journalists (eg IGN) created hype always turns out to be complete BS.
I'd compare most of these major games to hollywood hits - yeah, it might be enjoyable but I doubt I'll remember it in a few years. Its simply something to pick up, enjoy, and forget about it, as they have no particularly redeeming qualities.

Honestly I'd much rather have a well-made linear game like Jade Empire than another poorly-made McGuffin-gathering game.

Footage looks sexy but honestly not some amazing leap over stuff like Witcher 2. I bet my computer runs it a lot worse though! Hooray!
As for gameplay 2's biggest problems were all related to how rushed it was, in my opinion. Since they took their time with this one I have relatively elevated hopes for it. Modern day video games are extremely hit or miss for me lately though, so we shall see.

biggest problem of dragon age 2 wasn't related to being rushed, the combat sucked bad and the story itself was bad, there were no customization, no nothing
The low textures, repetitive and bad environments, well that can be attributed to being rushed but nothing more, the game was bad there is no excuse. They tried to appeal to a bigger audience and they made that crap of game now they are tying to appeal the skyrim fan base, they kept doing the same mistakes over and over, hope this time at last their copy turns out good enough.
