Any chance we'll see some of Bioware's classics, like Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2 (with expansion), Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale?
These are some of my favorite games of all time, particularly Planescape: Torment.

That would be great but I somewhat doubt that it will be possible (Bioware is still doing quite well and may not want to re-license the games for small sums).

Hell, +15 for Planescape: Torment. I'd really love to see that one here, and unless I'm mistaken Torment isn't even under Bioware's belt, it's good old Black Isle and Interplay. So... fingers crossed.

I know Knights of the old Republic may not be as old as the other games mentioned, but I'd still find it a very good addition to the GOG catalogue, especially since my original version seems to have some trouble runninng on Vista.

Mikee said we probably won't ever see Planescape: Torment here, because games which worlds don't belong to developer of the game are very hard to get, besides Planscape universe was probably closed for licensing :(

Nonsense like this always makes me angry. Isn't copyright great? It protects the rights of the authors and ensures that nobody can ever enjoy a work again when the rights get all tangled up. Oh well, in 75 years or so it should become public domain... If they haven't extended it again by then for Mickey Mouse.
Sorry for the rant, but it really galls me to hear that a masterpiece like Planescape: Torment can't be reissued while franchises that have been milked to death continue spawning sequels, spinoffs and coffee mugs.

You might want to check the Entertainment section of your newspaper more often. There's some debate over the copyright of the Mickey Mouse character, the damaging bit of evidence being the title card on Steamboat Willy... I'll let you Google it.

If i'm correct..Bioware Devloped BG 1 and 2 and Black Isle devloped planscape as well as Icewind Dale 1 and 2. Interplay, of course, was the publisher for those Dungeons and Dragons games. yet Interplay doesn't have the rights to the D and d Ip at the moment, Atari does...so you'd go through Interplay and Atari and Bioware.

Hopefully GOG can get the parties involved to come to terms...

I doubt it. Remember, EA owns Bioware now.

what i cant get my head around in the case of a lot of the copyright holders for games GOG might be interested in; wouldn't SOME sales at a "bargain bin" price be better than NO sales at retail?
put as plainly as possible, what good is intellectual property if its not generating any revenue for you?
here's hoping we can buy enough gear here to prove to some of these terrified publishers what should be common sense.

Actually a friend of mine works at Bioware. I really doubt that'll help anything either but I just thought it was relevant.
