BS2's DRM is longwindedly explained here. Anyone else skipping the game? (at least until it comes down to an acceptable price to be screwed over for?)

I'm not letting some pesky DRM ruin my fun. So, no.
Wow. They've really changed and learned from their mistakes, haven't they? :P
Yeah, either total avoidance or buying for £3 like I did with the original through Steam.
I just hope they don't pull this kind of shit with Mafia 2. I'm looking forward to that one.

Well, it's a little nicer if you get it on Steam, if I get the facts correctly.

Facts seem to be things 2K are keen to flee from. SecuROM on Steam is total overkill anyway. Especially with GFWL. Plus they're actually using GFWL DRM, something that was only mistakenly left in there by MS in some other titles.

Steam only gets one time SecuROM check, but like the disc versions it gets a totally unrelated 15-time activation from GFW.
I agree, 2K should either choose between GFW or SecuROM, not both.
GFWL? Ewwwwwww!
Looks like i'm skipping Bioshock 2 then.
I'll probably be avoiding it... though I didn't plan on getting the game to begin with, so the point is moot.
So, they're using Steam, SecuRom AND GFWL DRM? Wow, that's ... What DO they have instead of brains, really?

Which is an absolute fucking joke. It's Steam. Of course people aren't going to be playing it through Steam ahead of the release date. That means the game is using three forms of DRM for no logical reason whatsoever. All in all it makes the game reliant on three services, their continued existence and operation in the same manner they do now.

Steam would only be for the ones purchased through Steam. But personally I think it would have been better if they'd tied the game to Steam and got rid of the rest.

I'm playing it on 360 so....I guess I have to put the disc in....
Luckily DRM has not burnt my house down yet. I think the only game I have with major DRM is Crysis Warhead. Otherwise I haven't noticed anything else. Yet anyhow.
Meh, I don't really care about DRM. The only issue I had with it was with Mass Effect not activating, and to fix that I just had to End Task it and start again.
I don't get the hubbub. So there are activation limits... I only have one gaming PC, so I don't have to worry. BS2 has a limit of 15. Who's still going to be playing BS2 15 upgrades down the track?

Perhaps people who like to play old games? I wonder where one could find such a group...
If B1 is anything to go by, SecuROM will be removed within 6 months and it's likely that the limits on GFWL will also be removed around the same time. Either way, I really couldn't care. It's not going to deter me from getting and enjoying the game now.
Didn't they remove the limit down the road though?
