Does anybody want to make a group for a Bioshock 2 4 pack group on steam or have an extra copy i can chip in for? I think it all comes to around 33.75 per person which is a great deal considering you get 4 giftable copies of the original Bioshock.
I'm actually interested but I won't be able to put any money forward until the 5th of next month.

Me neither. I get a shitload of cash on Chinese New Year but that's on the 14th.
If I had a PC that could run it...
How much is it for everyone else? Its showing as us$80 for me.

Around $44.
Just to warn you folks:
http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/52531/BioShock-2-DRM-System-Requirements-Revealed
- A 5-limit activation - have they learned nothing from the past? In 10 years, when the activation servers are gone, you'll be screwed.
- GFWL: you need to use it or you won't be able to save, get achievements, etc. (no biggy for me but some people seem to hate it)
I'm not going to touch this - if they can't learn from past mistakes, I can't support them.

It was 15, now 5?
If do they same as they did with Bioshock the activation limted drm is patched out after a month or 2.

Don't you first need to install and activate before you can use a patch? I recall Bioshock refusing to finish installing if I didn't activate.

Hmm it appears your right, they only removed the limited amount of installs not the online activation.

Oh well, looks like we're probably next on steam's regional currency screwjob list. Probably be $1=$2
and MW2 is $60 instead of $90...

I thought Activision, THQ and 2K had always shafted you in terms of pricing. If you want the game though, just get it gifted from the US, that's what most people in Australia/Eurozone seem to do these days.

Oh we get royally raped on prices by everyone, I just find it interesting that steam is still listing prices in usd and jacking up the prices of select high profile games to be closer to australian shelf price. MW2 is 90 on our steam store, 60 on theirs. Bioshock 2 is similar but games like star trek online seem to be the same price regardless. This smells a wee bit like naked profiteering...
Interestingly enough, it seems I can do a transactions from the american site linked above with the american price for bioshock 2. Had I the PC to run it I might well do it just to see if it works.

It's not very different from Europe - we pay $75 for a game on Steam as well (US$). It's silly really: many online stores ship for free for half that price without being tied to Steam.
