sajin: Price of over $9.99 is simply not good for indies.

Leroux: If you think indies are so inferior to the classic that it's not worth to pay more than $10 dollars for them, just don't buy them. Or wait for a sale or the time when they will count as "old" games, too, in a few years and hopefully lower the prices then. Keep in mind these are newer games and part of the profit still goes to the actual developers, not just the publishers holding the license.

Personally, I'm willing to pay (a little) more than $10 for a new game, but it depends. I think $12 for a completely new release like Grimrock is awesome, as for Trine, most people probably already got it for less, but $10 is still a fair price, The Whispered World for $15 might be a little overpriced by now, especially considering the lack of multi-language support (you can get the original retail for less), but not by much. Anything up to $15 is still a fair price for a decent game with several hours of gameplay in my book, even or sometimes particularly if it's an indie game.
This is all very well, but if we don't CLEARLY make our opinions felt then who knows what kind of crap is going to be foisted on us at $14.99 in future.

This price range for this particular kind of product... been available and cheaper elsewhere, sets a 'dangerous' precedent as to what we think is acceptable and not acceptable.

And in all honesty.. $14.99 for this simply isn't worth it.

Oh, I didn't mean to speak against making your opinion felt, by all means do so, as I did with mine. I'm just saying not everyone will agree with it. And like I said, I can partially relate to the feeling that $15 might be too much for this particular offer, but not to the feeling that no indie game is worth more than $10, no matter what.

OK, I'll accept that to a point, but then again, if over 10-15 bucks is going to be the norm, and what's the ceiling, where do pricings stop? should they really be here?.. especially for older new releases that have no ground to stand on in a classic arena.
Indie games? Indie games? Are you crazy? Wow!!! Holy Maker!!!
You guys rule :D
First off, I'd appreciate a date on these news items. I sometimes take a while before I brows through them and would appreciate knowing the date context.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear about the stuff going on. And I'm glad that gog has stuck to the no DRM guns. If they end up with Trine 2 I'm totally getting through here :)
The site design was rather underwhelming. The biggest noticeable change was to how the news was presented, moving it to the right hand side of the screen, making it smaller, and changing into pictures. All of which I don't really like at all. I know several people have mentioned it as well, but I'm also not fond of the bar at the top of the screen stalking me wherever I go.

Oh well, nice newish games, though I'd never pay the full asking price for them. I wonder if those games will ever be on sale...
I had my games organized in the way I like, and now they are all messed up. Since I have over 80 games on my shelves, I'm a bit annoyed.

If I pay over $10 for indies then choose more direct way that most profitable for developers such as official shop or kickstarter not middleman. And I have regarded price ceiling at $9.99 as one of fundamental principles of GOG which make it amiable.

C'mon people. Is it really important how the shelf is organized? :-)
This is exactly what I was afraid would happen to this website -- they'd start carrying more and more modern games and lose touch with what they once stood for and the type of people they catered to. Already, the name "Good Old Games" is no more and now GOG is technically an abbreviation for, well, nothing. I fear that, in time, GOG will be releasing fewer and fewer OLD classics and instead transform into "just another" digital distributor. I certainly hope this isn't the case and I hope that I'm wrong (believe me, I don't want to be right), but already many things I've feared would happen have happened. I hope to God we still see the arrivals of many old classics.

Sadly GoG didn't get the feature I really wanted which is a English spelling program when writing forum posts - for us non-English speakers it is very annoying that we can't spell check our post since it does change other peoples perception of the post if there are a ton of spelling errors and it gives US/UK an unfair advantage here. So please GoG look into getting one on your site.
Thanks GOG for adding the possibility to log out from the main page. I knew you'd listen to me.

I also like the new sticky bar, previously I hated having to scroll back to the top of the page in order to access the links.

Thanks also for keeping the DRM-free policy, that makes sure you are not "just another digital distributor", even if you offer newer titles _too_. You remain the seal of approval and quality (I hope).

Now, if you could next fix the forum search. It feels kinda silly having to use google in order to find some older messages from gog.com, just because GOG search cannot find the same discussions.

No. I am actually considering starting to play my GOG games in alphabetical order, starting from Advent Rising. :)

See? That is not proper English.

Ps. Why does the forum keep kicking me back to the end of page 5 of this discussion, when I reply to messages on page 6? Some new bug.
