Just wanted to thank the GOG.com guys for providing a wonderful service. Essentially allowing me to play all those PC games I used to really want to play back in the day, but never had the hardware or money to do so.

Getting these old games running on XP and Windows 7 is a great thing indeed.

cheers chaps!

STAY AWHILE. STAY FOREVER!

Gamersgate copy of Pathologic to the first person to correctly guess which retro game that's from.

Cain was ok but Wart was one of my faves hands down.

gameon: Big thankyou to Navagon! Much appreciated.
You're welcome! I can pretty much guarantee you that you won't have played anything like Pathologic before. It's definitely unique.

gameon: It certainly looks interesting. And i am finally going to use gamersgate!
I'd rate Gamersgate quite highly, in the scheme of things. There is regional pricing and DRM to watch out for (DRM is detailed on the game's page though), but there are also a lot of titles you simply won't find anywhere else. Their sales are usually worth keeping an eye on too.

gameon: At first i didn't like the idea of having several accounts/passwords scattered all over the place. But more choice/deals is worth checking out. If i cant beat them i'll join them, lol.
There's no sense in missing out on a good deal because of some overbearing sense of customer loyalty. I've got accounts on quite a few DD sites. That's why I've got a password manager. :P
avatar
gameon: But the main reason i didn't sign up to steam and gamersgate from the start was because of mulitple accounts. Lets not get started with desura, greenmangaming dotemu and whatever else there is, or else i'd get a headache, lol!
I've got accounts with all of those... and more. :D

gameon: Thats one of the most honest/most sensible things i've heard in a long time. As much as i like GOG, theres nothing wrong with getting deals elsewhere. its a bit like Asda vs Tesco.

Keeping master password helps :P
On the other hand if it ever gets out, you are pretty much screwed...

Me too, but I end up reseting my password most of the time xD

Isn't it the prequel to Still Life? :\

*SPOILER*
Btw I LOVED SL 1(with it's scenes set in the past in a more "noir" style, and detective work/Jack the Ripper "theme".), and was all set for the "obvious" followup by the end of that game, only to see it go the route it did in SL2.

That's not to say SL2 wasn't a good game.....the whole "saw" style gameplay was good in many respects(as were some of the twists and turns) but the vast fast forward in timeline and cop-out "Scream inspired"(and somewhat hasty) resolution of the whole mystery in SL1 in SL2(When it was so bloody hard & mysterious[and thus more challenging and intriguing.]in SL1.) left a bad taste in my mouth in some ways.
*END SPOILER*
