So all you gentlemen at CD Projekt, please enlighten us as to when Good Old Games is going public.
I want all my friends to sign up, but I can't do that with only one beta code.
As encouragement for an announcement, please enjoy this picture!

According to GOG staff member 'Venom', each friend will also have a code to give out when they join during beta.
I hate to be negative, but I think the invite system should be permanent. A completely public system would likely result in all the games being distributed freely within hours.

people are going to pirate no matter what you do.
That's true, but I'd like gog to succumb to it later rather than sooner.
I think it should come out of beta as soon as possible. Anyway, when you think about it, anyone can already get in; the code used to access the beta site can be used over and over, as long as you use the same e-mail address to enter. You don't have to use that e-mail to register an account, though.
Plus, I have a feeling most people won't pirate games from this site. When services like this are launched, there is usually a respect the groups get for not having DRM. For example, you don't see World of Goo being pirated right now, or any of the games Wadjet Eye Games make.
I'm speculating here, but I would think that the vast majority of people who are interested in these older games, would much rather buy them (in appreciation to GOG) than go download it illegally. We here on GOG are a niche and I think the majority of gamers aren't interested in older games. I mean, the ones who illegally download games, on the one hand they have a game that's 10 years old and on the other they have e.g. FO3... they'll probably pick FO3 imo.
They're probably waiting for one more publishing deal before going public, they want a bigger library.

Your friends don't need that code just to sign up, they can do what I did 2 weeks ago: go to GOG.com, give them an e-mail address and within 24 hours, get a beta access code. They are still accepting beta signups right now.

Make it stay a bit private!
It's kinda like being in a secret club, hehehe...

All these games can be had illegally at this very moment, but this is a service for people who respect property and the creators of this service and games.
People who don't care about the above will continue to pirate games, and people who respect the games will buy from here regardless of how easy it could get to pirate them.
I just want them to make it go public soon because cookies keep getting cleared on my browser. Eventually I'll have to ask them to up my Beta Code again.

I use Google Chrome internet browser, which is great, but sometimes my cookies get cleared seemingly randomly, which is a pain in the butt b/c I too have had to ask for my beta code to be refreshed.

Too late, I've already seen pirated copies of Gog games and it's not like I was looking for them.
