striderscales11: Who here has had a bad experience with GOG? No one? That's what I thought.
I've heard / read a lot of complains.
What's more important to you, OP?

That you get a timely reponse, or that you get a solution?
This is the first positive thing I have ever read about GOG support.

Well, for the first year, GOG support was outstanding. Unfortunately, it's been going downhill ever since. I'm sure it's related to the fact that the support department has not scaled up along with the customer base.
Depending on the issue, support can either get back to me the next day or 3-4 days later.
there have been plenty of complaints that people had to wait awhile for support, and didn;t seem happy about it. Or at least enough where I think saying "who here has a bad experience. No one? That's what i thought" is just jumping the gun.

I can't remember exactly what happened, but as a recent example I think there was some glitch during the Christmas sale where people didn't get their games right away, and some people were irritated. Also the gog fake shut down didn't go over too well with a lot of people

I haven't had any problems in awhile( I did have problems getting my games right away during the holiday sale, but I wasn't mad about it. ) I know in the summer of 2009 I had problems with freespace 2 installing even though I tried all the recommended fixes, and I was a little irritated at the lack of response from support. I also remember ( because somebody here called me a liar and a troll when I non-rudely commented on it) that 4 of my first 12 purchases here all had problems in one way or another

Nope, I'm pretty sure I've written about my experiences with them here too. They have been completely awesome to an extent that no other digital distribution company I've used so far has even been anywhere near being able to compare.

Much of my loyalty towards gog comes from their customer service.
GOG hasn't banned me from all my games for saying a four letter word in the forum, which automatically makes their support superior to EA Origin.

GOG hasn't banned me from all my games for credit card or other payment issues with one game, or breaking their TOS even slightly (like discussing in the forum whether it would be theoretically possible to sell a GOG account to someone else), without any explanation even, which automatically makes their support superior to Valve Steam.

So yeah, pretty good, considering.

So, worst case examples you know of on Origin/Steam versus your ... what... no support experience on Gog? (assumption based on you not mentioned any)

Sounds legit :3

ps: This thread is about your good experience/issues with Gog support. Not about your issues with DRM based services ;)

Back in June when a ton of stuff was on sale, my debit card was accidentally charged twice for the same transaction. I e-mailed them about it, and got a response pretty darn quick. I was happy about that.

...worst case examples I know of on GOG. Yes, exactly. After all, others in this discussion were also pointing mostly to some other people's GOG experiences, not their own.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I haven't heard anyone having that kind of issues with GOG, albeit I consider it as a theoretical possibility that someone could be banned from his GOG account for some severe issues. But not so far for e.g. Paypal issues for one game.

My personal experiences with GOG support have been quite favorable too so far. For example, I recently got a quick feedback to my support question here:

I am one of the lucky people who barely ever seems to need support. As such I've never had to call on support for Gog games, which speaks good for them in itself. Same goes for Steam. I called on Support for GMG once (to undo a preorder) and that was dealt with relatively swiftly.

That's all the support cases I remember from my digital gaming history I think. Doesn't mean I never have problems with games, but usually I just go out to forums and look for a solution myself, and more often than not they're common issues and a fix is easily found.
