pingu53: I'd say Deus Ex games are stealth games, sure you can just run and gun but i think the game is made with stealth play in mind
I think the games are made for both, stealth and action approach, and the player can choose. And the stealth way is usually funnier IMO.

Elmofongo: Really? I always thought of it as the everything game, you can Go fight head on like a normal fps or take the stealthy route.
Nah, Deus Ex games are mostly stealth games. You can shoot your way trough, but it's pretty obvious that neither of those games were really created for you to do that.

Now that I look back Deus Ex 1 is harder to play non-stealth wise, I mean the guns are unaccurate as fuck on purpose unless you "upgrade" your gun skills which is pointless because Deus Ex structurelly is linear so there is no way to grind your skills :\

Since we are onto what is and isn't a stealth game, there are those than can be both. Deus Ex as mentioned obviously. The Commandos games, most of the missions anyway, can go both ways. The Thief games go either way depending on your level of difficulty. On easy you can wake up and kill anyone you want. On hard if you so much as frighten a mouse you lose. Also, I've never played beyond GTA San Andreas but that had some really cool stealth in it.
Crysis 1 and Warhead, with the invisible nanosuit power, Predator style.. /)
Skyrim.

It's much like Fallout 3, except bows attract less attention than guns, so you can keep up the predator act for much longer without being found.

I used to be stealthy like you, Until I shot a guard with an arrow to the knee.

Then he found me, Arrested me, put me in jail and made me serve my time. Guess you gotta be accurate or they will find you huh.
I don't know about best, when playing Fallout 1 or 2 i just jack everything that i can carry and isn't nailed to the ground then sell it. I'm really glad that caps don't weigh anything...

DProject: I always found playing a sneaky character in Fallout 3 really fun. Once your Sneak skill is 100, enemies have a really hard time spotting you. Then you just sneak behind them and plant a live grenade in their pants. Hilarity ensues, and it's a really easy way to get past Brute Mutants.

JogsterXL: This, being stealthy was awesome in Fallout 3.
Yeah well, with the Chinese Stealth Suit, it was completely broken. Especially if you combined it with a good sniper rifle.

Still not as silly as the invisible throat punching in Alpha Protcol though. ;P
