The Elder Scrolls page on Facebook just shared a trailer from a new Russian mod for Oblivion called Andoran: Prologue, and it's looking pretty good. Then, of course, there's Nehrim, which is said to be better than Oblivion itself.

So, do you guys know any other professional-level, single player total conversion mods?

The Nameless Mod for Deus Ex is the only other one that comes to mind right now.

Are we talking exclusively about RPGs/adventures?
If not, there are a number of great, professional-level mods for the various Total War games (which are effectively all-SP games), such as Third Age: Total War for Medieval 2.
Well, any game goes, really. Just trying to make a good list of single-player mods that really had a lot of work and love put into them.

The kind you might consider as being a whole new, free game (as long as you have the game it's built upon).

A good initiative. Many people probably have lots of games lying around without knowing that those games give them access to a lot of other free games in the form of TC mods.
I was reading about Nehrim, but i was put off by the idea of HEARING the game in German or whatever language it was recorded in, so yeah.... :)

But good thread, gonna keep an eye on here :D
There's that Thief style one for Doom 3... The Dark Mod I think it is called.
Starship Troopers TC for Duke Nukem 3D.
Starship Troopers for Duke Nukem 3D.
Back to the Future - GTA Vice City. My friend's son can't shut up about it.
Starship Troopers looks very nice.

So does Back to the Future, but let's try to keep it to already released mods. Mods of this level take a long time to develop, and we never really know which ones will ever be finished.
I know it's old and all, but I'd like to say the Alien Swarm mod for UT2004 was really a nifty piece of work. A lot harder than the remake later on. Maybe it's just me who haven't played the old one enough, but moving my squad ahead slowly to avoid getting slaughtered was a lot more tense than what I've tried in the newer one.

Also, does Team Fortress for Quake 1 count? Or does it not change enough? For that matter. Natural Selection for Half-life?

Aren't those multiplayer? Well, I'm trying to focus on single-player, as I don't play multiplayer games anymore and I'm sure I'm not the only one here with this focus.

Is the Alien Swarm mod different from the remake? I know you could play that single-player, but it didn't quite run on my computer.

The Dark Mod. Its production values are amazing. Well combat still sucks (I miss the accelerated movement style in the original Thiefs), but yeah.

Depends what you mean by total conversion. I would certainly give a mention to the combo of FWE, Marts Mutant Mod, WMK, Fellout and EVE for Fallout 3. Transforms the game into almost a masterpiece.

New Vegas has Project Nevada in production not to mention lots of other mods like Nevada Skies, Invisible walls remover, Weapon Mods Expanded, Arenovalis Weapon Textures, Extended NV Radio and Operation Fixed Terrain.
