FraterPerdurabo: M.A.X. is great, though it's been ages since I played it in multiplayer.
Duke Nukem 3D is fantastic.
If you like 4X games then play Call to Power II. I personally don't like it, but I've had a blast playing Civ III in MP.
Painkiller is a fantastic competitive FPS orientated MP game.
Fallout Tactics hasn't aged particularly well as a MP game.
Has anyone tried the Arcanum MP modules?
All those tips looks awesome :) will check them, thanks.
A_Future_Pilot: If you learn to play it, the Descent series makes excellent multiplayer!
If you grab Rebirth for D1 and D2 it has an EXTREMELY improved multiplayer (which will actually be even better in the next release :)
What type of multiplayer? Deathmatch or...? (Never played Descent)
lowyhong: The following games recommended are supported by Gameranger, and which I have experience playing and really enjoy:
Heroes 3 (supported by GR, but it's best if you're playing hotseat or LAN)
Sacrifice is a lot of fun if you have friends who like RTS/Action hybrids.
Total Annihilation is great for all RTS lovers.
Die by the Sword is fun but only if you have friends who like that sort of thing.
Icewind Dale is really cool, but best if restricted to 2-3 players, preferably 2. 6 players, eh, it's just hard to get coordinated.
Descent 3 is also wicked fun, but you need friends who are willing to sit down and get used to the controls.
Oh yeah Serious Sam is just insane too, but it's the kind of game best played in a LAN setting rather than over Skype or the Internet.
Neverwinter Nights multiplayer is very, very fun but I don't know how to host a game (never tried), and it may be taxing on your laptop.
Awesome tips thanks, checking them out now.
Valyou: Certainly any Unreal Tournament games. I don't have them yet on GOG, but I've given UT a shot, and simply, wow. When Unreal and the Tournament games were released on GOG, that was the day GOG was fully blessed. :D
I'll put down some other good MP games sometime soon, once I think of some.
Wishbone: Well, I'll put a word in for UT2004.
Good old UT series...those are always fun :D
Stuff: Here's a list of the GOG mp / co-op games sorted by the tri-genre that GOG assigns. I don't maintain the data other than adding games on release day so there may be one or two mp's missing and probably user ratings have changed as well.
My brother and I use the list when we are deciding what mp to play next. Might be some help to others as well . . . =)

Btw thanks for that awesome list.
Lexor: Heroes of Might and Magic! :P
Heh, one of the few games that are on GoG I knew have awesome multiplayer :D
KingOfDust: Giants: Citizen Kabuto can also be pretty fun in multiplayer once in a while. Need to have enough people to make it worth it though, like 5 or 6 people.
Does it have multi similiar to Savage or to what?
wormholewizards: What about POD? I read there are split screen multiplayer mode.
Can anyone confirm this?
