Ki11s0n3: So who cares, there is a thread why make another might as well bump this one
Like I said, anyone who is paying attention isn't going to think that the OP still gives a toss about getting an answer to this. Therefore there will be fewer (constructive) replies to this than you'd get if you started another thread.

Actually, anyone who is paying attention will see that someone bumped the thread and it's a good topic to discuss. Who cares that the OP isn't canvassing opinions about shooters but a different poster is? Noone that's who. The question is about what fps you think is best, the person asking is irrelevant.

exactly, I was going to open a new thread to talk about this but I did a search and found that there was already a thread so I bumped it

And you may have been directed to this thread if you started a new one.

For the record, I haven't played many gog fps games. I liked doom and wolfenstein when I was small though, so I am interested in people's views as well, so thanks for resurrecting this topic anyway - the previous answers have been helpful.

I am pretty sure that is what would of happened, and I also haven't played many which is why I was gonna start a thread because I wanted to know what were the best ones on GoG.

I have played UT2004 before and it was fun and would love to play it again and I have also played Postal 2 before, both I do not own on GoG but would love to play them again
Navagon's post, and all the off-topic discussion it has inspired, is a good example of why backseat/wannabe moderation is prohibited on many online message boards.
if your looking for a more "modern" shooter then Far Cry I haven't played it but it looks good
If you like a good story, get XIII
Back on topic...

I vote Blood and Painkiller.
best fps for shooting mechanics and graphics:far cry(yea I finished it on realistic - those damned trigens area major pain in the arse especially at endgame)
most fun fps: ut 99:goty
best humor: redneck rampage
best atmosphere: blood

my personal favorite though is postal 2.....

You might like the Blake Stone games then. Some might find them too simple these days, but I still get a good kick out of them since they're quite fun in their own antiquated way. ;)

UT99 is still my favorite of the bunch. While UT04 is quite enjoyable in its own right, the original still steals the show. Good fun in solo or multi play.
Will running games in DoxBox or whatever else it is that GOG does to make the old games run on new operating systems allow for gamepads???

Just no fun whatsoever with the stupid keyboard.

I couldn't get Gothic to recognize my gamepad, which is why I was asking. But I worked around that by clicking on the game executable instead of the gog executable, and something tells me that's just not going to work for some of these much older FPS games like Redneck Rampage (is the cuss pack available here for that?).
UT99 for me definitely no other FPS I hve played as much as that one, pitty it didn't have any sequels.
necro bump to add in:

Blood 2, its such an underrated fun game that is just... fun!

Well I might have had something "constructive" to say here if this was a new thread but since it is an old, risen from the dead thread and I have issues about who posts what and how and how old it is and stuff I am just going to say:

bump
