Ah, Alice. Good deal. One of my all-time favorites. My copy of Alice was bundled with The Undying. $9.99. 2 great games. All time top 10 greatest pieces of shovelware.
I bought a car a year ago that was a real bargain :)

I really wanted to like Undying, but it crashed my computer every two minutes. :\

Huh, I never had any problems. Did you check for patches? Really fantastic game. It's worth a little elbow grease to get it going if need be, especially if you like horror games. Very spooky. Very good FPS mechanics, too. Only minuses - the last level and final boss fight suck, and the ending was a little too obvious in leaving the door open for a franchise.
Too bad we got Jericho instead of an Undying sequel from Barker et al. Meh. Was that ever disappointing. I think Undying was the great EA franchise that never was.

I'm sure I did, but this was years ago. I scoured the internet and couldn't find any significant mention of stability problems, but I was constantly getting blue screens, lockups and reboots while playing the game, and didn't have those problems with any of my other games. It made it quite literally unplayable, and so finally I gave up and took it back to the store.
when I was younger we had a local PC shop that put all new games half off for like...an hour on the release day. They'd never tell you what hour it was though, and it changed every new release day, so I remember going in as a kid and hanging out with some other gamers all day.
good ol' days
On the shops last stretch before it went out I got Deus Ex for like...15 bucks on release day.

Half Life 1 for $0.99 on it's 10th anniversary was pretty good considering Valve's normal price is $10.

THe whole pack (HL1, Opposing forces, Blue shift and deathmatch) was like $5 wasnt it?
Also i picked up a few game half price off steam during the christmas sale.
Oh and penumbra: black plague back for..... 3.45 i think :D
Oh my....... too many to even remember let alone list. One more recent one was a still shrink wrapped Limited Edition of Gabriel Knight Mysteries. Includes Gabriel Knight I: Sins of the Fathers, Gabriel Knight II: The Beast Within, and also a graphic novel from the forthcoming (at that time) Gabriel Knight III plus a bonus soundtrack CD. And all the manuals. All for $2 USD. Since I love to deal the guy was asking $5 and I chewed him down to $2. I already OWN the games but I could not pass this up. :-)

I don't think the whole pack was $5 together for the 10th anniversary, but I do remember Blue Shift and Opposing Force being 99 cents each for the Christmas sale, but I didn't buy them then.

JonhMan: Getting the Orange Box for $25 a month after release at a Best Buy Thanksgiving weekend sale was probably the best deal I've ever gotten.

It's a shame the Australian market is so strange.
I bought it for $89AU.
that's the cheapest i could find, and it is also never on sale, or copies are rare.
