Any of the Fallout titles. Easy. :P
EDIT:- What type of game do you fancy? The Broken Sword games are some of the best adventure games ever and Commandos 2 is just, well, one of the best games I've ever played.
Beautiful locations rendered in superb graphics, fantastic interactivity and a shed loads of cool missions make is a truly titanic title for 6 dollars.
Unless you have it already, which you really should!! >.>

Nice answer but i already have them all :D
Arcanum/Original War/Giants from RPG/RTS/Action.
I added the games i own on gog to let you all know, also Shure commandos 2 & 3 is 10 bucks.
Of those I have: Arcanum, Hostile Waters, Giants, Divine Divinity. Arcanum would seem like the most obvious choice since you enjoyed the Fallout games.

Commandos 2.
Infinitely better in every possible way over the original, so don't let the infuriatingly painful memories of the first game's difficulty colour your judgment. It's a superb game, not as hard but just as satisfying with a seemingly infinite amount of possibilities and strategies for dealing with most puzzles and problems.
Not to mention the action sequences are sweet. ^^
Soldiers: Heroes of WW2 is also a good shout, more action packed with bigger 'splodes but not as thoughtful or, in my opinion, detailed.
Surely any game is worth a punt if it allows for commandeering an Elephant to ride across crocodile infested waters to take on the Japs?
Hostile Waters.
Or possibly giants.
Divine Divinity or Arcanum.
Useful link: All .99 games ordered by rating.
My opinion: probably Freespace 2. Duke Nukem 3D and Simon the Sorcerer 1+2 are also strong contenders.
Duke Nukem 3D is my favorite $5.99 game personally.
If you're into FPS games, then you should definitely check it out.
Always bet on duke... or on Die by the Sword

I've just started through Duke 3D and am really surprised at just how much fun I'm having!! For a game that I haven't touched for the best part of a decade it's great!!
