stoicsentry: That game DOES look pretty awesome. And it's already in my library. I think I'll fire it up for the first time now.
Bout' time :P
I'd go with Nox...
Oh, and SimCity 2000, of course.

What? You're on a yearly purchase recommendation quota now?

I bet next year it's going to be System Shock 2.

He asked for 5.99 games, and Sacrifice costs 9.99...
Difficult to give one answer to that question as when you have to choose between games of different genres it really does become very subjective.

Strategy: Total Annihilation
Action adventure: Outcast
Action: Blood
Adventure: Journeyman 2
RPG: Damn! Probably Arx Fatalis for that whole underworld vibe. But it's a really tough call.
Giants Citizen Kabuto

3 different scenarios each with their own playstyle. Great writing and superb start to finish

Doh, it went up to $9.99 like a lot of other Interplay titles.

So will go with

Ultima Underworld 1&2 or if you want something a bit more modern Arx Fatalis.

Lionheart Legacy of the Crusader, hack n slash style RPG from Black Isle

Arcanum - Another hack n slash style rpg, this time a steampunk style game

Darkstone little known gem of a game, dungeons that change every time you play and similar type style to Diablo

Hm... King of Dragon Pass, Arcanum, and Alpha Centauri would probably my favorite $5.99 games of the ones I own.
Outcast.

qre3o: How does it hold up? im a bet sceptical when buying older games

Dokusai: Master of Orion 2

qre3o:
It's a good 4x game with plenty of character. I personally feel Galactic Civilization 2 is a better game since it has more options, but MoO is still fun to play. It's easier to get into, and you can play through a session of it pretty quickly.

Pure opinion incoming!

Wing Commander: Privateer is probably the one I've put the most time into. It's just so much fun for me because I love space combat simulators, I love open-world games, and I love the Wing Commander universe.

Didn't you notice that most Interplay games cost more now than they did before....?

keeveek: Age of Wonders
I second this! I discovered GOG.com because of this game!
Best story: Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura

Most engaging gameplay: Nox

Entertainment time vs. dollars spent: Caesar 3
