Someone actually posted a petition on the US White House's website to ban Ben Affleck from playing Batman or any other super hero for the next 200 years. It was removed from the website by site moderators.
I take it the 200 year limit was to account for the possibility that he is a Vampire or some other immortal creature.
So, discuss should we allow Ben Affleck to destroy the Batman character?

It's rare that I come to tears over the loss of a character, but I have been a Batman fan since childhood. I watched reruns of the Adam West show, enjoyed the Michael Keaton films, tolerated the Val Kilmer and George Clooney films, and was blown away by the Christian Bale films. Hell, I even watched the movie serials from the 1940s! (The first serial was pretty bad, but the Batman and Robin serial was quite good) I loved all the animated films and have spent countless dollars on Batman stuff over the years.

As of today, Batman is dead. Even the darkest comics stories about the demise of Batman don't come close to this travesty.

I don't hate Mr. Affleck. I don't know him as a person, and he may be the nicest guy around. I don't dislike him as a person. However, after what he did with Daredevil, the idea of him playing my favorite comics character of all time is distressing.

Normally, he's Ben Affleck to people around him, but criminals fear him as the mysterious Benaffleckman.

What happened to Christian Bale? Just when I started liking Batman movies it all goes down the drain.

It was only trilogy. Both Nolan and Bale just wanted to make 3 movies and they aren't interested in making more Batman movies in future.

It will be Ben Affleck in fancy dress. I'm not convinced he qualifies as an actor.
