Wishbone: I love Strongbow as well. Sadly, it's almost impossible to get here. Occasionally I take a detour on my way home from work and go to The Dubliner, an Irish bar in central Copenhagen, where they have it on tap.

wpegg: So, do you mainland europeans not have apples? I read of Elks getting pissed on the stuff in Norway, why is the trade so small?
Oh no, we've got plenty of apples. We just don't have any tradition for making cider in Denmark. They do in Sweden, but Swedish cider (at least the stuff we can buy here) is more like apple- or pear-flavoured soda with a tiny amount of alcohol in it. I like it well enough, but it's a completely different thing.

Heh - I figured someone would take note of that contradiction. It goes back to what was posted here:

ThomasPierson: I generally don't drink beer when I play games because the beer gets forgotten and then it's warm or flat or anything else disgusting. I like beers when I'm researching a game, or reading up on it or just surfing the internet.
If I partake an alcoholy goodness while gaming it's normally in the form of a margarita, gin and tonic, or gin and cranberry. In all honesty, tho, I do drink a lot less beer than I used to.

orcishgamer: Since I had to go gluten free the only kind beer that tastes okay and that I can drink is the Widmere Omission line
My husband is now gluten free and so I am semi-gluten free myself just for the convenience of not buying two of everything. I'll give that line a try if it's worth the compromise. Scale from 1 to 10?
Sam Adams Boston Lager is my favorite beer.

PandaLiang: Hm. I have to admit that you are right in some degree.
a long sip.......
Coffee is great too......
avatar
orcishgamer: Well, as a coffee-aholic who lugs his own french press and beans to work, I'm going to have to agree with you on this one...
I'm like a coffeaholic too...only with booze instead of coffee.

Drinking a is great while [url=http://lparchive.org/Baldurs-Gate/Update%207/8-7.JPG]killing masses of the same in Baldur's Gate (or in any other game they appear).

ashout:
Aldi and Lidl sell cheap beers here (£1/beer) and they have a decent selection, mostly Shepherds Neame and Wychwood Ales. I don't drink that much when playing though, if I drank when ever I played I would be a hardcore drunk!

I forgot to answer this. My favourite beer is Royal Export (or Blue Cola as many call it here).
I got a lot of responses to this.

HOPEFULLY that means theres plenty of people who are of drinking age to answer it...

lol. I wonder which one of you is the 15 year old who's already getting drunk as often as he can? hmm. THATS not good.

I'll admit, when i was 15 i would have posted on this forum bragging about what an awsome beer chugger i was and how i prefered liquor to get it done quicker. but that led to problems that cost me my health, wealth, and any hope of ever starting a family.

just my ten cents on underage drinking, NOT WISE!

do you guys know about Drunk Quest?

it's awesome, I've already ordered my physical copy!
The only game I've played while having a few has been Skyrim, which was really fun, actually. Not beer though...I enjoy Jäger, it's pretty much all I drink when I want something alcoholic.

I do occasionally, especially when playing online with friends, mostly Dead Island lately. I don't drink more than two cans on one evening though (unless I'm actually meeting with some homies - that's a different story :P).

As for my favourite beer - while living in Berlin I always chose Berliner Kindl. In Poland I have problems deciding - there's just too many awesome beers here (I've lived most of my life in Germany and I can honestly say - as do most of my German homies - that Poland has the better selection). My favs would probably be Żywiec and Lech, sometimes Strong or Mocne Dębowe (when I'm in the mood for something heavier).

Never knew there's Aldi and Lidl markets in the UK. oO
I've gotta say though that in Germany most beers found in Aldi and Lidl are rather disgusting (they are sold in plastic bottles for God's sake!). And the selection isn't that good either. Haven't checked out Polish Lidl yet...

Pick a beer that's supposed to be room temp, Guiness, Smithwick's, and several others fit the bill. I like to drink scotch/whiskey while competitive gaming because a quick gulp can keep the buzz going if I get "behind":)

I'm gonna be harsh (because we have fucking amazing beer around here) 6.5. Realize I won't drink stuff like Coors or Bud which I consider utter piss (they'd be .5). In reality you won't be able to spot the difference between it and all the other "no-longer a micro brewery because we make too much" beers out there. There's a spanish one but it's really pricey, Estrella or something, but it tastes about the same (maybe a bit higher ABV).
