Hear ye! hear ye!

By King's decree the mighty kingdom of GOG is seeking for brave and valiant adventurers who will help to retrieve the great lost treasures from Ubisoft. The path ahead of those who will undertake this task is strewn with dangerous enemies and dreadful places. Many heroes won't come back in one piece, but for those who will succeed a great prize awaits at the end.

The first quest to become a GOG Hero starts today! We need you to help us spread the word about our new, upcoming Ubisoft releases. To do that all you need is just retweet this message "Become a GOG Hero, help spread the word about our new Ubisoft releases, and win a free GOG game #gogcom http://t.co/MJWo2JG" before Sunday, March 13 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. By completing this quest you'll automatically enter for a drawing of 1 of 100 free game codes from GOG.

That's only the first quest in the upcoming weeks. If you don't want to participate this time, don't worry. Everyone who participates in at least one quest will become a GOG Hero and will be eligible to win great loot with the big, special prize at the very end.

You're asking what's the grand prize? What is the main thing that every hero needs? (No, unfortunately we won't be giving away a princesses’ hand in marriage, sorry.) We'll reward the greatest GOG hero with a real sword, a GOG branded shield, and $150 USD worth of GOG games!

Ye Gods! I shall be your hero good sirs, unfortunatley I don't posess this tweet thingy but I await future quests with herring and shrubbery in hand!
Nice, another push for twitter users. Well leaves me out, good luck anyway I guess.
Don't you guys need to tweet the tweet before other people can re-tweet the tweet?
I don't get Twitter...
*prays* Oh mighty gods, I shall manipulate......I mean inspire those whom are GoGless.

Ya know it'd be handy to have a FB publish option for those who don't have/like twitter, just my 2 pence worth.

I have to agree with you. I realise how widespread social networking is out there and that using it is arguably the best way to cheaply and massively spread the gospel of GOG, yet it does alienate a certain number of the GOG customer base who have no need or incentive to use twitter and creating a new account with 0 people to follow it would not actually help GOG in the slightest.

Not a critique of the model per say, but if you are going to pull the Atari Swordquest out from the proverbial hole, better be sure that next time it is open to everyone and not just those who happen to have a lot of "friends".
Word of advice GOG, I love you all, but do you really think discriminating against people who don't use Twitter is such a wise course of action, considering your fan base?

Normally I'd be salivating all over such a prize, but I already succumbed to Facebook and to that I say NO MORE! So I'm going to have to sit this one out. Good luck to all our Twitter-savy GOG users.

Yep, about in the same book there. Never have used Twitter. Ah well, guess ill wait for tomorrow's challenge.
If I cared about Twatter, I'd participate.
No loot for me, then.
Add me as another one awaiting quest #2... I would do anything for loot but I won't do that....
This hero declares he can't participate in this noble and valiant quest. Though he possess many great abilities and feats he is nopt able to wield this mighty weapon called Twitter.

Me too bro..... manhug???
The prizes are really nice and I'd love to participate, however having to retweet it on Twitter is a big no no in my opinion.

You should just have people spread the word on facebook instead, that way you're not forcing people to signup on twitter just to participate. Judging from all the other comments here, that would be a pretty good idea.
To all users who don't have and don't want to have Twitter account - this is just the first quest. During the next three weeks we'll roll out more quests, so everyone can participate. You need to take part in at least one quest to be eligible to win the grand prize. Please keep on checking GOG for next quests.
