What, you ask? Because We May?

"We believe that developers should have the freedom to price their games how they like, without interference from the online stores that sell the games. Why? Because it allows us to promote our games more freely, as we are doing here! We rely on the ability to promote our games for our livelihood and control over pricing is an important tool for this purpose.

For the last week of May (May 24 through June 1) our games will be deeply discounted to celebrate online stores that give us control over pricing: The App Store, Google Play, Steam, and a few others."

at http://www.becausewemay.com/

and for Steam discounts, specifically at http://www.becausewemay.com/steam.html

Ooh, lots of good stuff, thanks. This is a long list, does anyone have any recommendations for when they go on sale? Stacking looks pretty cool.
Very interesting. Thank you for the info. :)

Well, *I* believe that customers should have the freedom to install and play their games whenever and on what machine they like, without interference from the online stores that sell the games. :P

Anyway, the Direct from Developer option sounds good enough, but how come these are mostly games that were already featured in some indie bundle or other?

Actually already have it. I haven't played it much *shakes fist at backlog*, but it seems like a pretty awesome game.

Looking quickly over the list, the only games that really catch my interest are Stacking and Swords & Soldiers.
Wow that list is awesome, though I have already quite a lot of these indie games. But depending on the individual discounts I will surely pick up some I don't have yet. As I like the idea of them promoting their own price discounts, I might even buy the dev only versions.

Probably because these are the same developers who are comfortable with the sales model.

That would be a natural explanation, but weren't there supposed to be masses of indie developers who felt left out by the bundles, judging by the talk about the lucky "few" who made it? Were are the 99%? This would have been their chance to get a piece of the pie. Maybe the indie scene isn't that big after all. Or the initiators only talked to the usual suspects and didn't advertise their project enough for others to take notice.

Gotta love the fact that most of these games, having been part of past Humble Bundles etc., are mostly burned out and not a whole lot of people are left to buy them, so their devs are just discounting them to cash-in as much as possible.

Also very possible. The first time I saw this site (yesterday, I think) it already was packed full of games, so they must have had to do some reaching out beforehand. But there is still open enrollment for developers so maybe we'll see some more obscure titles.
HECK YEAH BEAN'S QUEST

Yeah, it's not like there's many new games for iOS / Mac App / Google Play or anything.

Interesting... I have most of the games from those lists which may be "my type." Will need to check out Vessel.
Very interesting. Will keep on tracking the price for Double Fine Games and Deathspank: The Baconing !
And they are still adding even more games, so everyone interested should take another look as soon as the sale starts not to oversee new additions since now. ;)
I just realized I own over 1/2 of these games.
