There was a Street of Rage remake released a couple years ago. I'm pretty sure I read about it here at the time.

I seem to recall that they had some issues from Sega, but it appears to be available here
Kind of off, kind of on topic; one of my fave all time movies was on the other day "The Warriors" and I had heard they made a game based on it a few years back, I don't know the system. Anyone here ever play it?

Mobygames is your friend

(XBox, PS2, PSP)

The Warriors contianed the line 'OK lets get down to it boppers' which was sampled in a PWEI song 'Can you Dig It' I believe

*edit*
Yep, that was the one

I love that game. Any chance of ever seeing it here?

I already have my DRM-free Desura copy mind you, but it'd be really cool to put it on my shelf here.

tinyE: The Sega Genesis Gold CD Rom has a few good ones (most notably Streets of Rage 1 & 2) I picked up the rom but I'm pretty sure Steam has all of them, if you are that desperate. :P
Yea, I got that for my Xbox 360 and it's awesome. I'd really like to see a modern take on beat 'em ups because we've got technology and resources to make this genre very deep and advanced while still keeping that core of smashing someone's a$$.
I'm really glad for all the remakes that come out for consoles and PC, I truly am, but pushing it further into what we can do now would be great too. On Steam you can get a couple of the overhead racing games which I enjoy, too. Beat 'em ups shouldn't be that far behind
Vote for Castle Crashers!
Oni was an interesting game. It was 2/3 brawler with a touch of TPS. I'm kind of surprised this style of game didn't catch on.
